"I'm Firedrake, thank you." he said, still oblivious and careless. He felt a little nervousness creeping up his paws, but as usual, ignored it. Wonder what those dogs did. Eh, nothing of my interest. Firedrake thought. His eyes wandered to the dog, apparently Cerule. The chills caught up in his paws again. Cerule seemed proud of himself, and unhappy at Firedrake's presence.
Shenkka had followed Firedrake a minute later, and stood there, thinking of more insults than ever. I'll tear his head off. she thought angrily. She jumped up into the nearest tree, ready to save his butt once again. He always got himself into these situations, and she always had to save him. Shenkka did not like the looks of Cerule at all. Does Firedrake have a brain? I'll kill him after this. she cursed again.

Aspen wasn't sure what to say. He looked at Cerule's defensive stance and even Goldie remained silent. He hoped that CC didn't anything hasty, he feared for Firedrake's life. Aspen had observed Cerule's temper and though he controlled it for Goldie, he didn't think this dog would be as fortunate, and Aspen wouldn't be able to stop it.
He cleared his throat uncomfortably and asked, "Why are you here?" Aspen thought he heard something in the treeline, but when he saw nothing there, turned his attention back to the orange wolf hybrid.

It suddenly hit Goldie, This dog is a cross breed just like me! Interesting. "What do you need, mister Firedrake?" Somehow Goldie felt that there was no foul play in the dog. She wandered over to next to Aspen, glancing at him for a moment then to Firedrake to listen.
Cerule couldn't believe his ears. How can you be so stupid?! You don't even know him.... He stepped over the dead animal before him, walking over to Goldie. He stopped right behind her. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" he spoke rather sternly. "What do you mean?" she said in a hurried whisper.

((OCC - ;D My evil plan to get my spot in line back was a success!! Muahahaha! Sorry shenkka I was here first. (*shove) lol))
Aspen looked behind him at Cerule and whispered. "Come on CC, you can't believe this guy is dangerous. Just look at him." He glanced at the sdog for emphasis. He's probably about as much of a threat to us as Goldie." He paused before sayibg quickly, "No offense!"

Firedrake felt a little awkward. They were whispering a lot, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. I wonder if Shenkka found something to eat. he thought. He finally noticed the dead animal, but ignored it. He may be a little dumb, but he knew that asking for meat is a very degrading thing to do. "I don't need anything, just looking for my friend."
Shenkka sighed. She heard them talking about Firedrake, but so far it wasn't that bad. Then when he spoke of her, she nearly fell out of the tree. That idiot! then she thought of a very long stream of curses. Firedrake was such a burden like this. He was a friend, but he was being so oblivious all the time.

Goldie winked, "Non taken, Aspen, ol' buddy ol' pal!" Cerule spoke up, not wanting to be ignored, "He could turn on us." "He hasn't yet." Goldie said, she didn't like arguing, but she wanted to stand up for what was fair. "He had the perfect chance, too. No one noticed him until now." The blue dane stared at her blankly. "What I'm saying is that he could have ambushed us, yet he chose to come up to us, saying hello and giving us his name without any trouble whatsoever." He had to admit, she did have him there. Not that he was going to admit it. "Only because... he wanted to get closer." Goldie rolled her golden eyes.
"You hungry? We got plenty to go around." She said to Firedrake. "Don't mind him, he's just a little protective, thats all." Goldie wagged her tail. "My name is Goldie, by the way. That's Aspen," her paw pointed to the brown three legged dog. "And that's CC." The large blue dane, who was looking off in the distance, his tail twitching.

Aspen had a hard time trying hold back his laughter. He nodded to Firedrake and walked over to Goldie's side. He gave her a gentle nudge and a smile, he agreed with her completey. "Nice going, Goldie. Way to take charge," he said in a low voice, he didn't really want Cerule to hear. He was a proud dog and might take the comment the wrong way.
He swished his brown, plumed tail as he glanced back at the large blue Dane, before addressing the stranger. "Yeah, don't mind him. He's not exactly a social butterfly. So, you're looking for a friend of yours?"

Firedrake had to say no to the offer of food. He just didn't like eating food from some new dog, no matter how good his social is. "Yes, I'm looking for her. She's a purple dog; I know for sure that she's around here somewhere. By now, she might have tackled me or something." Firedrake replied. His fear was completely gone now. To him, they obviously meant no harm. He looked around in the trees. "Actually, she might be in one of these trees. She's a pretty agile dog." He said.
Shenkka had to watch while resisting the urge to jump down and yell at Firedrake how much of an idiot he was. She sat down, and she felt that her anger couldn't get much worse than this. Shenkka was sick and tired of saving him all the time.

"In the tree?" Goldie echoed. Wow, she must have the balance of a... cat? No, a lemur. I remember Ritzuka telling me about them one day when he came home from school... She glanced at Aspen, Wonder if he was ever a pet? Maybe I'll ask him sometimes... Her yellow eyes scanned the trees; no sign of any dogs were there. "You... Wouldn't suppose that she... could have gotten lost, do you?"
Cerule watche his companion's socialize with the stranger. He swallowed a bitter tang in his mouth. I am begging to wonder if I can trust these two. For now he sat on his haunches and looked up at the sky to wait untill they were done. He decided he was not going to speak to them, at least untill the blue Dane was not so angry anymore... Social butterfly? What was that supposed to mean?

Aspen followed Goldie's gaze, turning his golden head towards the trees, deep brown eyes sweeping across the branches. Without saying a word, he hopped his way to the treeline and disappearing into the bushes. Slowly he manuevered his way through the forest before stopping in front of one of the trees surrounding the clearing where he had left his companions.
Staring up into the leaves, he said in a loud clear voice, "Hey Firedrake, would this be the friend you are looking for?" He hoped that his stealth approach didn't startle the dog he smelled in the tree in front of him.

"Yeah, I'm not sure how she does it." Firedrake replied happily. Then, he watched the three-legged dog dash off into the trees. It took him a few seconds to realize what the dog was doing. Then, he followed the friendly dog's stare into the trees. "Actually, yeah, that is her." Firedrake said.
Shenkka cringed. Then, she jumped down onto the ground, giving up. Suppressing a sigh, she wondered why these dogs bothered to help Firedrake, being the silly mutt he is. Shenkka just sat down, waiting for Firedrake to be finished.

Before she could really react, the rest of their little band seemed to all have gone off and went to the trees in the distance. Goldie wasn't sure if it would be alright if she went to tag along. Instead she turned her attention to her currently brooding partner.
"Hey..." she paused. Cerule didn't react, keeping his blue eyes on the cloudless sky above. "...Listen to me..." With a scolding look, the blue dane looked at the darker hound. "We'll find her alright?..."
CC snorted and in a deep grumble responded, "Oh really? How do you suppose we're going to accomplish that mission when all of you all are running around like a bunch of un-whelped pups?!" his voice increased with harshness until he spat the last few words.
The golden eyed hybrid looked down at the ground in shame. "Well? I don't hear you trying to defend your new 'friends'?..." Cerule rose to his four feet, glaring at the dog in front of him. A wave of guilt bitterly washed over him as he stared at her sagged shoulders. That was... cruel of me.. She was just trying to cheer me up... The Dane turned his back on her, not wanting to say anything more...

Once he had been successful in finding Firedrakes friend, Aspen began limping his way back to the clearing. He had almost reached the grassy open space when his front leg tripped over a concealed rock. The impact sent him sprawling into the bush in front of him, the branches whipping his face.
When he regained his footing, the leonberger/retreiver looked up and could see Goldie and Cerule talking where he had left him. Perking his ears, he was able to hear their conversation and narrowed his black-rimmed eyes when he heard the way the blue-dane was talking to his companion.
Getting to his feet, he strode, well hopped, out of the mass of foliage, cutting Cerule off. "Hey, she was just trying to give you a little reassurance, CC. You don't need to get so cross." He raised his head a bit, though only by a few inches, the blue dane was still taller then him. "Now look, we may have gotten a little side tracked, but we still want to help you. That is if you still want the help of a bunch of unwhelped pups?"
Aspen flashed a concerned glance at Goldie, who hung her head. "I gave you my word that I would help you find your female," he lowered his voice and added "You can get mad at me all you want, but I ask you not to bring it down on Goldie... its not her fault." Continuing in his usual tone again he said, "Now, shall we go on?"
