He was keeping up with her at a steady, leisurely pace and was about to start leading as they both heard something. An involuntary growl emitted from his throat as he looked around. Was it wolves that were teasing them? No. The scent isn't that... what is it? Where is it? His mind continued to ask, even as he looked around he couldn't quite understand it. His nostrils twitched as he looked at Mugen, who seemed to understand it could be something bad as well. "Let's keep moving, even if it is something bad we can still surprise it when it thinks it has us." The halfbreed whispered quietly to Mugen. He began to trot away back the way they had come from the night before, remembering it well though it definately smelled different. But as they drew closer still to a particular area, he could smell the strong acrid scent of the dead bear, probably already starting to rot since it had rained. The longer his nose tested the air, the more he could get the different scents instead of just the rotten scent.

Mugen let out a growl of her own but nodded. She'd much rather tackle whatever was after them and give them their death now. Instead of doing that however, since she couldn't hear or smell where their follower was, she kept in tow with Musou. Small paws dipped hard into the mud as she kept her ears opened to everything around them. Where are you? she kept thinking. The closer they got to the bear corpse the more her nose stung. It would be impossible for her to find their follower now with this awful smell floating around and stinging her nose.
Hungry sunken eyes watched the two walked past the rotting bear corpse. Silent it didn't know whether or not to try to go for them. Oh but I have to. I'm so hungry...that bear meat was awful and it only made me more hungry. Large paws started walking after them behind the trees. Licking his thick mouth he didn't think he could control himself. It was crazy! The thought of eating another of your kind. But ever since coming here he's been starving and losing his sanity little by little. It's either them or you. If you don't eat soon you're going to die anyways. He nodded, agreeing with this other voice, and started to follow them more. Eyes went from the small female to the large male. The bigger one had more meat on him but the smaller female would be easier to grab and eat.
Without thinking on that further he charged. Mugen couldn't see it but she could hear it. Big steps coming her way from her blind side. Fangs were reaching for her neck but the small female avoided the attack. Instead she bit down on his neck. It felt like she was biting down on bone. There was nothing but skin on him, all fat and muscle practically gone. The male didn't seem to notice the bite to his neck and reached for her. Grabbing her tail he yanked with what strength he could muster to get her off. Mugen cursed as the starving crazy dog tried to pin her down to get at the meat he so desperately wanted. "Get off me!" Kicking and snapping her jaws on him didn't work. It was like he couldn't feel it at all. All that he could feel was hunger. The words she said made no sense to him. They were only cries of food waiting to be eaten. Once he bit down on the back leg and taste blood, his stomach jumped for joy. It tasted so good. The kicks and bites to his ears he was getting didn't register in his mind.

Since Musou had become quite aware of something else following them, he wasn't off in his own little world and just aimlessly going on without even bothering to look back. He had done that for several weeks until yesterday when he quite literally ran into Mugen. Running into her was what had brought him out of his trance pretty quick and it was what had given him such a poor start with her. Threatening someone else was usually a good way to keep himself out of trouble, especially when they usually went off on their own anyway. But this time it had been different. She had tried going off on her own, but he knew she found another body that was displeasing to look at.
Looking at all of these bodies was digusting in itself, but if the wolfdog was hungry enough, he would eat them, decaying or not. He would even rip apart another dog if he was absolutely starving. It did not bother him. It was second nature just as howling beautiful songs at night when it rained. If he hadn't been snapped out of his trance, he would have kept going until hunger would have pained him so much he would have eaten anything near him. But now, as he heard his friend yell, he turned around and saw what was going on. As the dog bit down on Mugen's leg, Musou's blue hackles began to rise and a deep growl came forth came his throat and he stood to growl at this dog. His red eyes narrowed so muc they looked like slits. When the dog didn't seem to pay heed to his growling, Mew jumped on his back and tried biting down on his scruff. He pulled and yanked once his teeth found a place. He wanted this thing off his friend. He at least wanted her to make it out of this place alive. After that, she would be on her own, unless both had a change of mind for whatever. He kept growling and bitting down as hard as he could, to distract the dog from Mugen.

The hunger crazed dog didn't hear or heed Mew's growling. He even forgot that the the male was even here. Only when he was bitten and pulled off did he finally see the male again. He stumbled onto his feet after being thrown and was soon being attacked by the male. He gave a weak growl, the best he could do at the moment, and started to go after the male instead. He had more meat on him anyways but that would make it so much harder to bring him down. Maybe he can just steal a few chunks of him instead. If he was lucky that alone would be enough to bring the large male down. Fangs were revealed again as he aimed a bit at the males thick shoulders, the tough meat it had being appetizing.
Fangs suddenly punctured his back leg however and he was yanked back before he could get too close to the male. "You'll pay!!" Mugen cried out, crunching down on the skinny males bony leg. With no muscle to prevent her teeth to do any damage to his bones it wasn't hard. There was an audible crack of bone break until she released when he aimed to strike her. "Too slow!!" The small female jumped out of the way and landed on three paws, the one he bit refusing to touch ground as it bleed from the wound. Of all the legs he had to get he had to get the one that already had been damaged before.
Angry Mugen growled, tail bristling as she glared at the male. The pain of a broken bone didn't bother him at all. What was wrong with this male? Hunger alone can't mask all this pain can it? She didn't know. She's never aloud herself to get this hungry or bad. The male couldn't put weight on the broken limb but it didn't stop him from trying to strike at his meals again. "You're mine!" The male aimed for Mew and Mugen took this chance to bite down on one of his long ears, ripping a piece of it off when she was trying to force his head down. "Mew!" The larger wolf hybrid can take care of himself but she still tried to attack the skinny male again, thinking he needed help. She bit down on his neck and hoped to break the bone there too if possible. The starving male felt nothing and did nothing to stop her, intent on getting the thick juicy meat Mew had instead.

As he kept snarling at this dog who kept trying to get both him and Mugen, he kept defending his own. When this male came at him again, even when the breaking of bone and the ripping of his ear didn't stop him, Musou ran forward and head on collided with the other. He slipped between the dogs legs and jumped up, aiming to throw the dog over and backwards. He hated getting into fights, it was times like these that he would defend until either his life gave up or until this dog would decide to quit attacking and just give up and think what he was trying to do. If he had to, he would keep throwing the dog around until he stopped.
"Mugen, stay back. This one is mine." Mew said as he circled around the dog in a very wolf-like fashion. His blue mohawk bristled all over and his movement was very fluid. His eyes never left the other dog as he was growling and aloud some of his own drool to drip from his teeth. Eyes filled with hatred, and teeth dangerous as a wolf, he wanted to end this all, even if he had to kill him to stop it.

Mugen released the crazed male when Mew flung him aside. He fell on his back with a load grunt and seemed to remain like that for a bit. When he could muster up some more strength he managed to stand up on his paws again, although a bit shaky. After shaking his head he followed the circling male with his eyes. Starving still he would make the same mistake again of trying to attack the male. Even if the female wanted to take him down she was forgotten for this drooling male with more meat. "After what he did to me no way!" Mugen growled to Mew. No way was he getting this guy all to himself. Sure he can easily take him down so can she. He just caught her slightly off guard earlier was all. Normally when she bit down they felt pain, this guy was too crazy to feel that! That had to be it!
The male lunged once again for Mew with Mugen right alongside of him. The male didn't seem to notice her as he aimed to attack Mew once again. What a crazed fool. Even Mugen would feel a little hesitant to ever attack Mew if he looked like he did now. His fangs bared dripping drool like he was almost as crazed as the starving male. Snarling the starving male quickly aimed again for Mew this time for the throat. Mugen bit down on his shoulder hard which forced his bite to aim for the shoulder again instead. It made him tip somewhat to his left, exposing his own throat even more so then he already was.

Mew let this dog bite down on his shoulder. The pain sheered in his shoulder and all over as he was not used to fighting. However, he wasn't going to let this dog get even a tiny piece of his skin. And aside from that, his tail still hurt from the night before when they fought and took down the enormous bear. What made this dog think he could even possibly take him down? Growling and grabbing the dog by his face with his teeth, the hybrid began to bite down and hard. If this dog wanted pain, then maybe Mew could demonstrate just exactly what pain was. Once the teeth loosened up just slightly, Musou pulled him away from his body and just held the dog in his jaws, continuing to bite down, little by little and slowly biting into the skull as well.
Things would have been better in Russia where it snowed all the time. He wouldn't be fighting crazed dogs and traveling through a rotten forest. No, he would be continued to be shunned by the families who hated him in their graves and hunted down by humans who wanted his pelt for their woman's fur coat. Sure life would have been colder there, but at least he would have been a lot happier. Sometimes he still wished that he had been there to watch his family die of the sickness humans had brought upon them. It was scornful of him to think like that, but knowing everything they had done to him was just a joy to know they suffered horribly well. And now it was going to be this dog's suffering at the very jawls of Musou if only it would decide to give up.

Red liquid started to drip down the crazed canine's face. At first he thought it was coming from the larger male. But then he felt pressure on his head, it being unable to move. Jaws stuck wide open as the larger male seemed to easily hold him in place and bite down on his skull with tremendous unknown pressure. Unable to move his head away from those jaws he ended up licking his own blood as it dripped down his jaws. Mugen was amazed that the crazed male didn't try to put up a better struggle. But she guessed it was because he was either so weak or the bite was messing with his brain.
His body was visibly becoming limp, eyes slowly starting to close. This was the first time that he wasn't feeling hungry anymore...feeling anything. When his body seemed lifeless Mugen released her hold on him and backed away a little. Snorting she shook her head, getting rid of his awful taste from her mouth. "Crazy fool" she muttered. "Should've known it would've ended like this when taking on both of us." She wished it was her that had finished him off but oh well. The crazed male was done with his hungry rampage. "Better go in case he's not the only one." What if there was a whole pack of them? Mugen wasn't sure if they could both take on a pack of hungry crazed dogs...not if they were like this one. Not feeling any pain even in the end. Shaking her head she started to walk again, only stopping to wait for Mew.

As the dogs body went limp, Mew let it drop to the ground. The wound in his shoulder was bleeding only slightly, nothing like what he had to deal with when fighting the bear the other night. With a snort, the large dog stepped over the body without a second glance and joined Mugen in finding a way out of this place. "Indeed, I don't think we would be as lucky in killing this one with more running about. How's your leg?" He asked, eying her leg for a moment or two then looking straight ahead. He just hoped that if there were more, they would come one at a time or eat each other and then try to catch them. It was not fun to be bitten in the same spot more than once. He had his share of fights, and fighting starved dogs was not his specialty.

"My leg's alright. It'll heal." Mugen walked with a slight limp, trying to force her injured leg to hold up some weight. It'd hold it for a few seconds then start to bend backwards with pain. She would eventually end up keeping off the ground. It wasn't that much of a bother and the pain will ebb away soon enough. The wound wasn't anything devastating, least, not in her opinion. She didn't care too much for her injured leg. What she cared about was getting the hell out of here. After that crazed male's attack she was starting to think that they weren't as alone anymore as they thought. Perhaps there were more, maybe not crazed or starving...like a pack even. Could it be that a pack of dogs, either crazed or sane, can actually live in this dump of a place?
"Lets just get the hell out of here" she said, trying to lead the way out. "Before anything else decides to take a bite out of us." Eye was focused on what was ahead of her but ears were swiveling for any sounds of other dogs or creatures. It seemed like all was quiet...but how long will that last.

((sorry I was kind of busy. i'll post again ^^)) A mostly black munsterlander dog stared at two strangers from some distance behind. They both had injuries, but that wasn't what confused Shadow. Looking at the corpse, he noticed that that dog hadn't been seen around here. He was also an intruder, but for how long? It didn't matter now.
Creeping forwards, he made sure not to make a sound as he moved to the dead intruder. He sniffed it and lurched backwards. It stunk horribly. He looked over to the other strangers, who were walking away. Making sure they didn't notice him, he looked back to the corpse.
Licking it's blood a little, then turning, he called "Hei! You just gonna leave a dead body in the middle of nowhere? That's littering you know." His voice, though mildly deep, sounded innocent and almost joking, though serious. "I saw that fight. You alright?" He waited for a reply from either. He knew how to play games.

Mew heard something moved behind them, but wasn't alarmed as he saw a normal bird fly over them in a panic. As his muzzle went into the air, it was already too late to identify the strange behind them. His hackles rose as he turned to look at this new arrival. His red eyes leered over the dog as he looked to Mugen and then back to Shadow. "We're fine. As far as I can see, this entire territory is littered with bodies." His voice was gruff sounding since now he was craving for some water. He looked over the other, not taking his eyes off him for even a second. Starting a fight now would probably only lead to others coming. It did not require experience to have knowledge of that. Besides, if there were others out there, Mugen wasn't so sure that he would be able to fight them all off either. Be patient Mew. You'll get your chance when the time comes. "I know.. I know..." He replied quietly to his inner voice. He wanted to just turn his back on this new dog and keep going to get out of here, he didn't want more trouble today, especially today.

Growling Mugen turned to look at the male that talked. A black male of a thing that spoke as if there was an inside joke she didn't know about. "Yeah" she said, agreeing with Mew. "If you want it cleaned up, you can do it yourself. Don't know why you'd care, as he said, place if filled with them." She huffed through her nose and lowered her head a little, ears going back. She wasn't about to do any cleaning in a place that was filled with such filth anyways. Besides, why should she listen to that male anyways? He wasn't her boss or anything! Just another male of no use to anyone. Looking at Mew she made it clear they should just go.
Mugen though, didn't want to turn her back on someone she didn't know. Not in a place like this. She wasn't stupid. For all they knew this guy was a canibal like the dead dog is. "We'll be going now. No reason for us to be in a dump of a place like this."

Shadow almost glared when they spoke sourly to him. Stopping himself, he looked around, then stepped towards them. As he neared them, he didn't show a hint of fear or hostility, almost as if he'd known these two for years. "I've been around here awhile. But I've never seen a dog eat another dog here .." He said slowly, looking briefly back at the corpse behind them. "But other dead bodies around here? I've been patrolling the area all morning. This is the first I've seen." He said in a troubled voice. His face appeared confused, but he was intent to follow them around.
"See, I'm in a pack in this territory. I'd like to find the other corpses you've mentioned so I can report them to my boss .. uh so they can be removed or buried. Mind showing them to me?" He asked as he followed them. He went quiet, waiting for a reply. As he waited, he studied the two strangers closely.

Musou was not being taken in by the words this dog spoke. If there was another pack here, They would have run into them already, especially the leader. Mew let out a quiet growl, observing this other dog. He had a feeling that this dog was up to something. "Seven miles back there are plenty of dead bodies for you to look at." He didn't care if this dog chose to attack or not, he would just bite right back.
Turning his back on the dog With a brisk wave of his tail, he walked away, knowing Mugen would eventually follow. He may have looked old, but there was no way another dog could over power him without a good struggle. The starving dog was nothing compared to fighting off a bear or even a pack of wolves. And for such things to go on as they had done, he bared scars from most of the encounters. As well as being marked an outcast by his own pack for being betrayed and never fitting in. This was in opposition as to why he would be hesitant for making a pack, he didn't know if he would be betrayed again. Regardless of Mugen being nice to him right now, did not mean anything. He was a wolfdog. A creature that was shunned by many who were of the pure dog standards. That was the way things were in his mind, and it was always going to be that way.
