Filth.... Every inch of land and air and sea that touch turns to filth. Land once full of life and flower, mountains once tall and proud, skies once clear and blue. All filth. Gray, dark, and soaked with blood and rain... And, in the eyes of some, somewhat improved.
If everything mankind touched was filth than he must be the trash dump of the world. How exciting, actually, to be the profound one, the beast of burden, the hell raiser. Built by man, then sent to destroy them. A prophet, a messiah, whose sole intent was to clear the earth of all this... filth... and return it to former glory. By logic, that would include committing suicide. But, in his new world, the one clean and crystal clear, logic will be governed by him and him alone. And his logic will not include his own death, will label him as death itself... and death cannot commit suicide.
That time would come soon enough. For now, it was all about getting out of this torrential downpour. It'd be rather difficult to rule the world if the common cold knocked him off his feet. Grinning quietly to himself, the tiger striped brute kicked up his pace to a youthful trot, his long legs more than enough to keep him above the sticky mud and at a very brisk but still casual speed. Cropped ears bounced slightly in time with each gentle padding step like the mane on some black stallion, though his docked tail lacked a little in the same aspect, stiff and erect, show dog style.
Human filth.
Without really thinking too much more about it, he rounded the corner of the old, once white, farm house, moving passed the front porch with almost defiant determination. The house was falling to shambles, the roof and upper levels caving in, the floor littered with holes and vermin. There was no shelter to find there. Moving across the yard, he set a half-blinded course for the barn a ways off in the distance, reaching it rather quickly at his steady, unbreakable pace. Darting inside, the massive dane mix had to wiggle his way through the narrow opening between the two deep red doors at the front, his massive 130-pound body only barely managing to squeeze through after a less than dignified struggle. But, with a stumble and the clicking of dull dane claws, he finally managed, finding himself standing in the middle of a spacious blackened room.
The building was lined with horse stall and, while no horses stood within them, the tall walls could've been hiding something else entirely...

It was just blooming wonderful, the clouds were painted a nice pattern of dull blacks and greys, the made her coat splendidly heavy to carry, and her pups were attempting to dive under her legs despite them being too big for that now. Just. Freakin'. Wonderful. It wasn't hard to tell that the brute female, nearly 29 inches at the shoulder and padding around with 152lbs to spare, was in a grouchy, horrid mood being caught out in the rain. Not to mention her pups meal had been interrupted by some dolt running out the brush attempting a run-by steal of what would have been a mediocure fill at best. Served the dumb-arse right she left him without his ears and flung him upon... well whatever the heck that hard things was. Rock. Tree. It didn't much matter at all. He wouldn't be getting up any time soon, but it was all for the better now that Daichi and Manabu wouldn't be complaining about a belly ache. Speaking of which, the pups were at least able to catch something on their own now, maybe she have them sticking around a bit longer, not like catching food was ever one of her more enjoyable activities anyway.
With a mind off the subject of the rain, despite how wet her thick coat was getting and how much it seemed to be dragging her downward into the muck with every step, the chestnut colored mutt chanced a glance upwards. They had been here for quite some time, wandering back and forth through the area, and Chiyoko was assured that the old rubbage of farming material was in close proximety at least. There just had to be something up there, and if not, well, best to just stick to the familar porch, lay out, and take being wet. Rain. Ugh.
Manabu, the larger of the two pups, had given up trying to hide under the shelter of his mother's more than wide enough belly. He had to crawl in a crouch in order to fit, and even then there was always the risk of getting stepped on by the seemingly uncarring dame, and Daichi also would attempt to get in under the shelter; which quite accordingly would not fit them both in the least. Bad luck is what it was, but the sooner they got to the rubble the sooner they could hide out. Somewhere. He hadn't really spotted any place suitable for their family, much less himself, and his mother... well that was a joke all in itself. The brute couldn't fit anywhere! Still, he supposed she had her advantages, after all she threw that bag of bones pretty darn hard without so much as making a fuss about it. A flick of the growing pups shaggy tail, and Manabu bit back a growl. He hated himself for it, but yes, he was still very afraid of the large dog he called mom. Best not to cross her, and thusly he resigned himself to trudge outside in the mud without complaining.
Daichi on the other hand was another story. He was the smaller of the pups, but that in no means made him more cowardly than his brother. He'd go running head first off a cliff if it would prove he was the bravest. The mostly chestnut pup scrambled between his mothers legs, whinnying and snorting the entire time. She walked too slow, then she walked too fast, he could never keep under her belly and out of the rain while he crawled! At least he had the image of his mom beating some bugger off to keep him entertained. She was just too cool!

After giving his short, harsh brindled coat a decent shake, the great dane mix took it upon himself to take a quick look around his new temporary shelter. It was surprisingly sturdy considering its age. The walls, thought decayed, stood upright and didn't cave or warp like the walls of the farm house on the other side of the field. The one the male had by-passed. The roof was full of holes, allowing minimal light on a bright night but, on this dark evening, allowed nothing more than a steady drizzle to stain the floor and, annoyingly, the top of the big brute's head.
Filthy barn...
Growling deeply to himself, the irritated brute took a long and slow series of steps forward, his wild gaze searching the blackness for a sign of... pretty much anything, simply analyzing the area before striding forward into it. The darkness proved overpowering however, and though he still searched with those eyes of his, the tall pointed ears atop his broad head served as his main form of investigation.
Strolling down the center isle between the empty stables, dark blue and black fur blended perfectly into the dull surroundings, all 33 inches worth of dog disappearing from few after only a few moments. Only the clicking of his claws gave away his position on the hard wood floor, but even that was drowned out by the thundering rain against the shingled roof.

Walking down a path through some sort of once-living fruit or vegetable crop, the rain felt good, though it made Ekki's dense fur heavy against her set of bones. Mud stuck to her legs, in between her toes, even on her barrel, but she was used to that. A quick licking would clean her off enough. But that was the last thing on her mind right now. Her first priority at the moment was food.
She saw the end of the path, which was a few paces ahead of her. When she got 3 or 4 paces to the open, she slowed down dramatically, and crept along, triangle ears perked forward. She froze on the spot when she heard something. Peaking her head around the corner of what looked like a dead bunch of cornstalks, she saw a farm house. She smelled other canines, but it was impossible to tell how many, or even how close she was to them. But she didn't see anyone around, so she crept low to the ground, stopping every few paces to listen for any sound of life.
The rain was almost too loud for her to hear anything else. She sighted a barn. It looked suitable for now ... Run down and falling to pieces as she stood there, but suitable for now. She headed towards it.
She took one look at the barn door, propped only slightly open, and turned away from it. "Too obvious." She thought. If a bigger dog or another hungry animal came along, they'd go for the door. They'd smell her and seek her out immediately. Heading around the side of the barn, she found a stall window, crouched low, adjusted her hind legs in a quick shake of her hind end, and leaped upwards, soaring through the window without contact and landed in the stall with a thud and a huff of breathe. She stopped to listen.

There it was, right through the mist of rain and the darkened sky the chestnut dame could quite easily see the rubble of what use to be the old farm building. Heh, it wasn't much, and she doubted there'd be anything to keep the rain off her head, but to Chiyoko that didn't really matter. She wanted her porch. Heartily, dearly, almost earnestly she made the effort to trot up the rest of the way to her home away from home. To the large dog, such a trot was slow, every step carefully taken so as not to have a padfall off balance, yet it seemed some what to be, for lack of a better word, relentless. She would have stopped to sniff the area, but the rain would have made that to be a difficult task, and there was really not many a threat to such a dog of her size. Benefit of the doubt, thank goodness for her horrid mood and eagerness to get to her porch.
Unknowingly to the chestnut mutt, there were two others in the area, one that had been closer to being spotted than the other. Upon reaching the remarkably still standing square structure or rotted wood that was elevated quite a bit off from the ground, all that needed be done was take a single step and flop down with a heavy thud against he wet surface. She would sleep off the rain if she couldn't find shelter, no questioning doubt about that. Her large muzzle shifted against her paws to stare at the two pups who stood stupidly before her, "We sleep here, find what shelter you may." Motherly love, heh, not for this dame.
Oh darn-driftin' darn! With the female's trotting Daichi couldn't very well keep up at a crawl, and thusly was left out in the cold of the rain and good thump on the nose by his mother's hind paw. Humph! The mutt pup didn't take that too kindly, and seeing as how they were quickly getting up to her size with every passing season, he had started to get a bit more assertive in his actions. Manabu could be left in the cold, Daichi wasn't going to have none of that nonesense! The pup pinned his ears slightly, watching as their mother flopped down on the porch, his gaze shifting to his bigger but younger brother. "Fat chance. Get your own shelter." With that the pup gave a show of his teeth and quite litterly dove under his mother's front leg to nestle beside her with ease; ignoring the rough grunt from the larger dame.
"Idiot," was Manabu's snarling response, but if they wanted to freeze outside in the rain, let them. He had seen a fairly well intact barn a little ways off several days ago and he assumed it was still there unless some unnatural disaster destroyed it. Which was, come one, very unlikely. The milky pup turned abruptly in the direction he remembered seeing the structure, hoping that the roof was still in good shape as he had yet to investigate it. Silently, contomplatively with ears erect and eyes alert, Manabu made his way to the side of the structure, attempting to find a suitable way in as he attempted to make a round totally around the area before even trying any of the brief cracks or openings he found along the sides. For all he knew there was a 'monster' inside, and the pup's tensing form showed his careful thoughts.

Black ears were suddenly erect with caution. Well, not suddenly... They were unfortunately cropped ears so they were pretty much always erect, but they straightened up a step when a loud thud found its way into their midsts. Immediately, every muscle in the dane's body seized, tensed, alert. One paw was frozen in the air and all other movements ceased, every sense searching the darkness for another sound, another noise, anything to attach an identity to the thump heard moments before.
But, his sense of smell useless in his pathetically squished boxer-like muzzle, his ears overrun with the sound of rain thundering against the roof, and his eyes blinded by the evening darkness, his search proved futile.
No matter. Whatever it was, he could probably deal with it. Only slightly smaller than a large great dane, anything alive and thumping around in the dark would have one hell of a time crossing him. despite that, an old barn could be thudding for a lot of reasons. Probably just an oil canister or some other piece of human filth fall from its disgusting perch. Harmless, to say the least. Snorting in an arrogant fashion, the tiger-striped mix gave his head a brief toss, the movement lit through the holes in the roof when a lightning bolt cut across the sky like a white hot knife.
Unphased, the brute returned to his causal sniffing about, moving past some of the horse stalls, oblivious to what or who might be inside of them.

Jasper shook his head irritatingly, "Fithly rain." he muttered as he shook himself off. But it did no good for within seconds of the water flying off it was replaced twicefold from the downpoor on his thick coat. He gave a snort of disdain for he could see no shelter in this blasted dark rain. Suddenly though a bolt of lighting spilt through the air and he stopped seeing what looking like an old house of some sort in the rain. He growled and stopped, "Evil humans." he muttered at the sight. He started to turn around then stopped, and looked back. Then again he could smell no scent of the vile creatures, and there was no other sign of shelter anywhere. He looked back one more time then, ducked his head and took off at a trot toward the farm Normally he had an adversion to humans and avoided them whenever poosible but there was a good chance that this place was abandoned. Besides the rain pouring down and the lighting flashes made spending one night in a human establishment much more glamorous. He finally reached the area and lifted his head sniffing one more time. "Dogs." he thought as the scent of what smelled like two females and a male and maybe some more. "But no humans." he said quietly sniffing again. "So it must be abandoned and therefore free to occupy" he thought. He saw a barn nearby and ran too it smelling otehr dogs in there but not caring. This had gottne Japser into trouble many times before his carefree attitude about strange dogs, but tonight in the rain he didn't care about the smart alternative. All he thought about was getting out of this infernal rain. So without a second thought he jumped through a small window where he could smell a female faintly. "Not too much to be troubled by." he thought. But as he landed with a small thud on the ground he smelled a new scent a large male dog. And the scent of it sent shivers down his spine for he got a very bad feeling from this dog and suddenly the rain did not seem to bad. But he pushed all the fears from his mind and settled down behind some hay bales one eye open and his ear alert to any sounds.

Hearing a noise of another being in the barn made Ekki freeze. Her tail curled tight against her back from nerves, and her claws dug into the old straw on the floor of the stall. Walking tensely towards the stall door, she looked through a crack to see a hulking male, standing just inches away from her stall door. He seemed oblivious to her presence, which made it all the more tense. By the look of him, she'd say that he was a fierce fighter with an attitude. Looking around the stall, she found an old, red, plastic bucket (probably used for feed) and got an idea. She wanted food, and this brute was going to get in her way. Grabbing the bucket, making as little noise as she could, she stalked back over to the stall door. The brute had passed her stall now, and had his back to her. She exited the stall carefully, but all too quickly, the bucket making a loud scraping bang against the hard floor of the stable. "Damnit ..." She thought to herself in anger. Tensing even more, she stood motionless, watching the dane's next move.

It seemed inspecting the outside first had been a grand plan, a grand plan indeed. For as he was about to round a corner Manabu happened to spot a figure in the quick second of lingering white light from the lightning, sounds following close after that. It was difficult for the pup's eyes to adjust after the sudden flash of light, but he was in no hurry to move so he kept to his sheltered corner until his sight was back to par. At least, in this kind of storm. It was difficult to really see anything at all other than shadows and the guessing of shapes, and his nose wasn't too useful at the moment with how the rain drenched everything and made it all smell the same. For Manabu, it was the worst experiance ever, as he hadn't the senses nor practice of adult dogs and couldn't figure out what was what when it all had the same scent of water.
No matter. His sight soon returned, and the tan pup adjusted his gaze where he had heard the sounds, spotting the reflextion of an open window, and hearing the rain against the panel. It wasn't too high up, he supposed, and he probably could jump through it if he potioned himself correctly, but there was something else on the mutt pup's mind at such an idea. The other dog. If he jumped through it would give the other creature the chance to attack him, or perhaps he would startle the other into attacking assuming he wasn't some blood-thirsty killer. Best not to get into that situation.
Grudgingly Manabu padded back towards the front of the barn to continue his search for the best way in, his tan pelt soaked heavily from being out in the rain for so long. Perhaps he should have stayed with mother and Daichi, but he had too much stubborn pride to ever admit to such a thing. There it was, the front again, the first and largest hole among the walls he had seen while making the round on the perimiter of the barn. It seemed to be an opening between two perpendicular, or at least what use to be perpendicular, slants of wood his mother had called doors. That was probably the best way in considering the circumstances. A flick of the pup's tail, a twitch of ears, and the preparing of his body the pup, if you could call the 13 inch ball of bulk and stringy hair a pup, squeezed through the hole fairly easily.
He was inside, finally, and the smells of the dry barn hit him like a brick wall. It smelled old, decaying even, and lots of dust. But most of all he finally smelled the scents of wet dog. How many? Manabu was unsure, but there was more than one. Wonderful. Best not to get into anyone's way, he soon decided as he was quite willing to let them alone if they allowed him this small luxary of staying out of the rain. Just in case, Manabu laid down near the opening at the front of the barn, picking the easy escape route if some trouble was thrown his way. With this, he was sure to get to Chiyoko before anything happened, at least, that's what he was hoping.

Shuffling along the floor in an almost lazily clumsy fashion, the dane didn't really pay attention to the noise he was making, confident he was alone in the barn. Though his sense of smell was usually quite sharp when it came to pinpointing scents showered in haze, the drowning humidity and powerful storm seemed to be washing everything just out of his reach. Only scents found near the ground were at all clear and, even then, they were so washed out by the rain and mildew covering the abandoned building's solid wood floors, that their identities remained a mystery. The other dogs in the barn were theoretical at best.
That is, until a thump drew his head up again, tall cropped ears easily picking the sound out of the darkness. Once again, the dane was less than suspicious, though his eyes scoured the darkness briefly just in case. The wind was probably just tussling some old farm equipment hanging from the walls, no big deal. Nothing of immediate interest came to his eyes or to his nose. But, before he could return to his casual investigation, a scraping sound made that black tiger head of his whip around suddenly, alerted.
Behind him, in the darkness of the storm, stood a dog of unknown breed and gender. Darkly colored, it grasped a bucket in its pathetically small jaws, the source of the loud banging scrape heard moments before. How foolish of it, to bother with the plastic item at all. Sure it must've seen him wander past that horse stall, if not at least heard the clicking of his claws. Amused, the dane mixed smiled... but not in a friendly way. His ears lowered a bit and his wild gaze narrowed as he turned around to face the interesting interloper, giving him an overall suggestive air. The wiggling stub of a tail on his rump might've fooled a naive canine into believing he was friendly, but anyone with any sense would likely be weary.
"Well, well... what have we here?"
Closing the distance between them slowly, his pace very casual, he took a moment to run a tongue over his black muzzle, almost tauntingly.
"You startled me... Tell me, what on earth could you be up to, carrying a bucket around an abandoned farmstead?"

ooc: No he has it that way because I joined in after Sharp's post had been made. So now when we post I post after Sharp and so on cause that the order I came in when I joined this thread:) Got it?
Jasper lifted his head up when he heard a scraping sound across the floor, "Probably mice." he murmered to himsefl. But out of curiosity and a strange sense of foreboding he decided to see what he was. He peaked his head over the top of the hay bale and saw a small female dragging a bucket of food acrosse the floor." So that 's where the sound was coming from." he thought to himself. He was just about to lay back down when he almost gasped in shock for directly below him was a giant dane mix. He could tell imediatly that this dog was pure evil, from the jagged scars across his body to the strange eye. He knew know that within a few moments this female dog would be spotted and that would not be good. He was correct, "Well, well... what have we here?" the large dane mix said in a chiling voice that sent shivers even down Jasper's spine. "Oh boy this is not good." Jasper thought. For even though the large dogs tail was wagging he could tell right away what was on his mind, and that would Jasper would have to interfere which he did not want to. For he knew that the dane mix msut be a formidable fighter, he could tell that right away. And he did not wish to tangle with him, "But I suppose I must." he thought for he would never just leave a female to suffer that fate. Normally Jasper wasn't the one to go out of his way to help others, but that, what he knew was on the dane's mind, that was just too horrible to let anyone go through. He sighed and for now would just watch until things got bad. "Just run." he said in his head, hoping that's what the female would do. He heard the dane mix say something else, and he waited to see how the female would react.

(To Jasper: Ok. I was just confused. Now I know, I go after the guy (?) with the uber Kaibutsu icon.)Wincing when the dane mix stepped towards her, she listened to his cold words. Studying his movements with one sharp eye, she watched his tail wag, the way he licked his lips; she studied the way he moved foward, and listened to the tone in his voice. She did not waste time staring at the monster's face like a scared little puppy. She got to work thinking and assessing what he was doing. "This guy will try to kill me. Judging by his size, the look in his eyes, and the way his muscles ripple when he steps forward, he definately is a skilled fighter. Let's see how skilled ...." She thought to herself, slightly squinting one eye and bracing her legs, leaning first backwards, then launching herself forwards at him, full speed. But instead of attacking, she landed one hind paw on the top of his head and pushed off of him, landing behind him. She planned on seeing his reflexes, how fast he would move when in combat. She turned and faced him, the plastic bucket still hanging in her mouth. "I'll waste no time talking to he who only wishes to fight. If you want to kill me, go ahead. I wanna see you do it." She said in a deep and meaningful tone which grew sarcastic with the last sentence. She grinned slightly.

The place seemed nice so far, it wasn't too damp save for a few places in the roof where water was dripping down, and it had a nice darkness to it that seemed to invite sleep. A sleep Manabu would have liked to fully embrace, was it not for a few sounds that bothered his round ears. He couldn't tell what it was, and though he had heard it when he walked in he hadn't paid it any mind. The tan pup was fully ready to allow himself the luxary of a nap while his coat dried, but a voice jarred him from the thought instantly. A voice, one that was too deep to belong to a smaller dog, came wafting through the barn. Haha... he knew there were more dogs in here, just knew it! Well it was good to know his nose wasn't too far off the mark, but it was still impossible to tell each scent apart. Still, he couldn't help but being at least semi-curious about what was going on.
Last thing he wanted was to turn into Daichi and start getting himself into trouble, but it was best to know his surroundings and who was in here, correct? The tempatation got the best of him, as he got to his padded-paws and slowly walked a little ways further into the hallway, careful not to go any further than necissary. He just got them in his sights, or at least the shadows of their shapes as his eyes were still adjusting, when he heard the female voice respond. Well... this wasn't going to be good. Not one to interfere, and definatly not one to mess with other dog's business he made sure to inch his way close to a cracked open stall door and settle himself in by sitting back on his haunches. It disgusted him, but the feeling of unknown dread that seeped from an encounter like this interested his curiousity and he could do little but sit back and watch.
Despite this, the sudden movement and action by the smaller shadow he assumed to be the female surprised him, as Manabu tensed up, maw gaping in silence and ears flicking backwards. This wasn't going to be good, he could tell that already with what was said by the female voice. Gah, that irked him. 'Female', and 'big male', it would be easier on his mind if they just said their names aloud. Could he just sit here and watch this? If he told Chiyoko about it he doubted she'd care, she might even force him to come back and continue to watch as it was 'how things happened in real life' as she told him often enough. Ack, and he had already relinquished his spot by the barn doors. It seemed to Manabu, with a glance down the hallway in either direction, he had just conciously given up the only safe route out of here if things got dangerious. Today was turning out to be just lovely, best just to stay there and stay out of the way, as he quietly as possible shuffled himself into a laying down position right by the opening in the stall door, keeping almost unwilling yellow eyes on the scene.

The dane, still grinning like a madman, appeared as casual as ever where he stool in the hallway. Though his body was sturdy and his muscles so clear, he projected the same defiant strength as a snorting bull, his stance was quite leisurely. His head was lowered with interest, the storm and other observing dogs on the fringes of his attention, noticed but not really... seen or heard with his eyes and ears. Only felt, that feeling of being watched and being wet, but a feeling he didn't bother to confirm it.
Even when the female across from him decided he was a hurdle and not an opponent, he merely closed that cool gray eye of his and, chuckling deeply, slowly turned around to face her, stub tail still wiggling pathetically. As his gaze swept the room, he noticed the presence of a young dog: a pup but one so large his age was difficult to decipher. A fearful creature by the look of his stance. Nothing to be concerned with.
Showing his teeth in a bit of a smirking scoff, black nostrils flared a moment in a snort after the female finished talking.
"That's a bold statement coming from someone who charged me. I merely wish to know where you are going with that bucket."
Speaking in a matter-of-fact tone, the great dane mutt took a few steps forward, wandering his way haphazardly toward the smaller canine while sticking to the edges of the hall. He even casually looked away from her, toward a large spider hanging from a nearby web, which he not only stared at but decided to sniff a moment before resuming his trek.
"Curiosity is the root of all wisdom, my dear. Wisdom... not fights."
