What a day today was going to be!
The kai dog could feel it beneath his golden fur, right down in his bear dog bones. Today was going to be good. He'd woken up early, he was feeling refreshed after a night in an abandoned cave and, now, high up in the central alps, surrounded by his element of rocky cliffs and jagged mountain faces, he would finally get the chance to play in the snow. With temperatures in Japan at a bit of a record low, the mountains especially were simply brimming with snow and ice, much of which had been dropped just the night before. So it was still fresh and soft, simply begging to be romped in.
And, fortunately for the drifts and dunes, there was a young dog just waiting to fulfill their cries.
Stretching himself a little, the lightly striped kai dog reached forward with his forelegs lazily, pulling until his back cracked before doing the same with his hind legs. Typical morning rituals followed: a few grooming lick, a couple of nibbles in his pelt to clear out debris, a good scratch at one ear, and then, like a lightening flash, he was off, tearing through snow that was easily up to his chest and shoulders. But he would not be stopped.
Laughing loudly to himself, he bounded through the soft, plush material as if he were swimming in the warmest of lakes, his thick Kai dog pelt keeping him warm, even in the frigged temperatures, and even while caked with snow and ice. The tora-striped dog even bothered to skid to a halt, spraying up powder everywhere as he systematically flopped on his back and proceeded to roll around in the fresh snow like a puppy a quarter of his age.
How he loved the snow. It was a shame it only really came around one season a year.

Paws slowly treaded on the sea of white as an ebon hued figure made his way across, his ice blue orbs taking in his surroundings. All he could see was snow, which he figured was pretty much apart of the mountains. Looking around, he could see several mountains of snow waiting to be leaped upon by a puppy or a yearling. A small smile lifted at the corners of his lips and he continued onward, his white tipped tail twitching.
A sudden burst of laughter made him stop and he tensed out of habit. Azure orbs traveled to and fro, searching for the source of the laugh and he soon spotted a light tora-ge canine rolling in the snow. His ivory tipped ears stood up in slight surprise as he watched the dog laugh and seeming to be having a good time in the snow.

After spending a few minutes lolling about on his back, the kai ken quickly rolled back to his feet, standing elbow deep in the soft white substance. He paused there, smiling, to shake his golden tiger coat free of flakes and debris, whatever was left quickly melting in the morning sunlight, giving his fur an almost grease-like sheen. With his coat clear and the wind at his back, he moved off a short ways at a fairly playful trot, turquoise gaze eying the untouched drifts, searching for another place to leap and bound and play in.
However, his search was interrupted when a dark figure appeared, almost looking, out of the corner of one keen eye. Immediately, the stereotypically aggressive kai ken went jovially bounding over, his trot taking an almost skip or hop-like aspect to it, making the dog appear rather animated as he made his way up the hill toward the strange shepherd. The smile never dropped from his features.
"Helloooooooo there."
He called playfully well before he'd reached the strange male's side, being sure the shepherd was aware of his approach.
"Do you need something? Are you lost?"

Azure colored eyes watched as the canine shook fur from his coat before bounding over to him, almost having hopping as he went. A small smile lifted the corners of his mouth as he watched the other. He seemed to be a happy one, unlike him who could sometimes be a bit cold and a litte ruthless. But only when he needed to be. As the greeting reached his ears, the brute gave a small nod in acknowledgement to his voice before listening at his next set of words. Do you need something? Are you lost?.
No, I'm not..I'm just a lone traveler he answered, setting down his haunches in a sitting position as the cold breeze ruffled his raven colored fur.

Slowing his rather hasty trot as he approached, the kai dog's pace went from its joyful bounding down to a speedy walk, down to a leisurely stroll before stopping entirely about half a length or so from the strange male. It was likely a risky move, choosing to stand so close to another dog, another male no less, whose intentions might be less than friendly. But the naive kai did it anyway, undaunted by the shepherd's size or his relatively mysterious appearance.
Jaws parted, he stood panting a moment, pausing so he might listen to the larger dog's reply before offering one of his own, curled tail wiggling where it sat tight against his rump, even though his expression seemed to have dropped a friendly bar or two, now appearing more confused than anything else.
"Oh... Then, why were you staring at me?"
There was an awkward pause, during which one tiger-striped ear was turned outward in a display of social discomfort.
"... you're not gay are you?"

Oh... Then, why were you staring at me?
You just happened to be in my line of vision came his answer as his gaze suddenly turned a bit cold. Not that he was mean, it was just how he was when he met new canines. He was always reserved and didn't tend to speak unless he had to. The dog's next set of words caught him off guard and he raised an eyebrow. No, I'm perfectly straight, thank you he answered. Not that he had anything against gays, he was fine with them.

The kai dog sighed in relief, his normally perfectly perked and pointed ears sagging to the sides of his head for emphasis. He too had no problems with gays, at least not outwardly. Being gay didn't make any sense as you cannot produce offspring with someone of the same gender, but what others did in their spare time was their business. Live and let live, that whole thing. He'd just rather that, if another dog was going to be staring at him and be within a relatively close proximity, they'd be clear on where the boundaries laid between them.
"Oh thank goodness. Kind of thought you were stalking me or something."
He paused to lick his jaws, his attention wandering a nearby bush for a moment as something stirred beneath it but whatever it was took off fast enough.
"Not that I'd have a problem if you were gay. I'm just saying... I'd like to know ahead of time. Know what I mean?"

A small smile crossed the male's face at the canine's words and he shook his head. No, I'm not, so don't worry he answered, a small grin crossing his muzzle. A sigh escaped his maw as he laid down, liking the feel of the snow on his belly. The mountains were always his favorite place to go and rest and he almost never settled in one place for long. I'm Alucard, by the way (ooc: No muse..xP ^^ )

"Alucard..."
The kai dog decided to test the name for himself, repeating it thoughtfully, almost as if tasting it on his tongue. It sounded a little cumbersome, was almost like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth the way all the syllables seemed to clash with one another, making you work to pronounce them all in a smooth or effective manner. Eh... He didn't like it much, but nodded anyway in acceptance of it. A name is a name whether you (or anyone else) likes it or not.
"Al... Mind if I just call you Al? I'm Tenrai. Tenraitora if you want to be official about it, but usually just Ten or Tenrai is enough. My mother kind of stuck the -tora at the end for tradition's sake."

The shepherd nodded at his question. Sure, I don't mind. Nice to meet you, Ten he answered. Spotting movement out of the corner of his eye, he spun around, feeling his muscles tense out of habit. But it was just a snow hare darting away from the two canines. He relaxed then turned back to Ten. How d'you end up here? he asked, smoothing over his recent episode of paranoia, as some liked to call it.

Tenrai eyed the hare with a significant amount of disinterest, his ears perking for a second before relaxing again, turning outward slightly in the casual moment. Stupid hare. It probably should've run away a lot sooner than that...
"What do you mean 'how'? I just... walked. How else do dogs get from place to place?"
Laughing jovially, the kai dog took a seat opposite the shepherd, resting his rump casually in the midst of the cold, damp covering of snow. As usual, his thick kai coat kept him warm as a bug in a rug.
"I have no place else to be. Why not be here?"

The wolf chuckled at the canine's response, his sky colored eyes glinting in amusement. He was an amusing one, that was for sure. Grinning, he nodded in agreement at Ten's next set of words. True he answered, smiling. Sighing, the black shepherd laid down, resting his head on his paws.
Just out of curiousity, do you belong in a pack or are you a loner?

Tenrai seemed confused by the shepherd's question, one ear perked straight while the other one sagged almost to the point of pointing straight downward. In truth, he was just a little offset. Seemed like an odd question to ask a dog, whether or not he belonged to a pack. Why would that have mattered to another male? Unless, of course, he was trying to gather members to make a pack or was even looking for one himself to join.
It just seemed like an odd question, like asking someone's weight or their mother's maiden name. it wasn't offensive or angering or even bothersome in any way. It was just... weird. That's all.
"I'm a loner. Used to belong to a pack but they all died a few months back so I've kind of been making my way on my own. Just out of curiosity, why do you ask?"

Ivory tipped ears pricked at the dog's answer and he shrugged. Just curious.. he responded, looking over at the endless sea of snow, occasionally being ruptured by a mound of snow that seemed like good fun to any young dog. Alucard, himself wasn't young but he wasn't old either. More like middle age or around there. Sighing, he looked back at Tenrai. Race? he asked, a bit of a challenge in his tone. With all the mountains of snow around him, it seemed like a good thing to do.

P-4 Walked slowly through the snow. His paws were cold, and cut up from walking so long, And the snow seemed endless, as is flew into his eyes making him jolt back. Will this ever end? He thought to himself as he looked up ahead, where more snow began to fall. Out of being exhausted, he collapsed in the cold, white, blankets of snow. He slowly closed his heavy eyes, and started to drift away.
