"I'm sure you'll get an ass load of insults from this... but I suffer from... a disease. In a group of dogs I used to stay with for protection and training there was one who hung around a human healing place. That dog went there and spoke to one of the dogs belonging to the facilities' head human and brought back info. She said she couldn't remember the full name, but it was somthing like schizo... its a disease that attacks the brain." Kana's voice was layered in aungish and fury. The doberman just leaned her weight to the tree with her bright purple eyes closed tightly. Her breathing was shallow from the run and her hind right leg shuddered a bit from the akward position she was leaning.
With a swallow she continued, "My case is supposedly minor... as in it won't kill me... directly. What I mean by it killing me it... what if in battle I phase out in one of those illusions again?" Kana snarled furiously. Her anger was ranged, yet no longer focused on the flirt standing near her. "It is driving me insane and-and I just can't keep fighting it! All these horrific illusions toy with me endlessly. It's like my mind wants me to suffer," she barked. The key in her voice was desperate and fearful... yet rebellion seeped on the end of every word.

Fabius stood there without syaing anything. Was this why she was so irritable all of the time? He wasn't sure, but it probably didn't improve her attitude. It shocked him to hear the despiration in her voice and he spoke in a low tone, "You thought I'd insult you for that?" he looked at her with a slightly cocked head. "Kana, I make jokes at you because you are crabby, spiteful, way to uptight, and you mock me repeatedly so I feel it's fair. I'm not so shallow that I would make fun of somemone's phyisical or mental condition."
It was the truth, Fabius was an ass some..okay most of the time, but he wasn't that big of an ass, he did have moral values. He turned to leave her alone, if given time, she would probably return to her old self and be calling him a brute in no time.
He didn't have the energy to speak anymore anyway. he squinted his eyes to shield them from the light and pinned his ears flat against his head to block the sounds. With a staggered gait, the doberman made his way to the stream and laid on the moist ground. By now, it felt like his skull was imploding on itself. As he reached his head towards the water to quench his dry throat, his vision darkened, his neck slacked, and his face dropped into the water....

Kana pulled herself together with a tight clench of her jaw as he spoke. Her chest burned slightly, but she felt okay... a bit crappy for complaining and ranting infront of the annoying male. What she didn't expect was him to act sincere for the first god damn time since she had met him. As he walked away she turned her head to say somthing and noticed his stagger.
Leaving behind the blurred stupor and following him slowly. Her claws cut the grass as she flitted after him with a sigh. Kana planned to apologize, but when his body went slack and she heard water splash in an odd way her head snapped up. "F-Fabius?" she stammered and trotted over. With a soft bite, any harder and she would take out a chunk of flesh with razored fangs, and pulled his face from the water. Kana pulled him from the water's edge and proped is head on his paws to keep his air ways wide.

He awoke coughing violently to clear water from his lungs. Ther wasn't much, he hadn't been in long, but long enough. Fabius' eyes opened slightly, the light was still bright and his head still throbbed. Moving slowly, he lifted his head and looked around, he could've sworn that he was closer to the stream. The headaches make him lose his focus, otherwise the fact that just a minute ago he was coughing up water would have made it obvious.
Then he glanced over and saw Kana standing near him. 'Okay, I know she wasn't there a minute ago....damn,' he thought as realization took over. After a moment of feeling embarressed, he looked at the the female doberman with a serious expression. "I....passed out...didn't I." It was more of a statement than a question.

Kana twitched her nose watching him cough the water out of his lungs and lifted an eyebrow, a small brown dot in her black fur rising with it. She sat patiently while he gazed around trying to figure out what the hell was going on and looking dumbfounded.
The female basked at his wave of embarrassment as he realized what had happened to him. "Yep. Face plant into the stream and all," normally there would have been sharp remark at the end of that, but she let it slide. Seeing him black out and come out of it looking like an idiot made up for it on her side.

Ginving her a sour look, he remarked, "Hmph. Now who's making fun a those in pain?" Really, the pain was beginning to recede enough that he could get to his feet without much trouble. Glanceing at her, Fabius thought she looked more like her smug self than she had not more than ten minutes ago. She was never going to let him live this down.
"Sorry about that...didn't do it on purpose, but if it snapped you out of your funk then I guess accomplished something," he said. He walked slowly back towards the clear flowing water and he looked back over his metal shoulder, "I promise not to try to commit suicide this time," he said sarcastically, but with a little less enthusiasm than normal. Lowering his head, he lapped up the cold liquid and let it run down his throat.

"Rawr much," she said with a roll of her eyes. Kana watched him rant a bit then climb to his paws and stagger over to the water. She snickered, no sound really came out but her chest and shoulders shook in the unheard laugh.
Kana trotted into the sun streaching out her long, narrow neck. Her dark gray nose pointed towards the sky and she let out a relaxed sigh. She guessed while he was busy sucking down the streams that she could get in a good streach without being watched by his flirty eyes. Kana opened her mouth, letting her tongue loll out over the side of her muzzle and letting her ears flatten over her skull.
Her long legs quivered in the effort of her streach and she closed her eyes feeling her muscles loosen. Kana's short black fur ruffled out, basking in the heat. She smirked, letting out a luxirious yawn, "Uhn... the sun feels so good after being in that dust bowl of a pack land!"

His headache was pretty much gone. 'Maybe I should just try dunking my head in a river next time,' he thought, maybe it was just the drink of water, he wasn't sure. stretching out his spine, he let his claws dig deep into the earth before pulling them back. Having drank his fill, he went back to his rock and returned to sun bathing. It felt nice and made him sleepy, and judging by what Kana said, she enjoyed it too.
"That's for sure," he said, agreeing with her remark about Sanguine Hollows, before he closed his eyes, but he didn't sleep. Fabius pondered some, sat up and scratched his neck, before laying down again. "I should thank you for not letting me drown..so thanks. It was probably a tempting situation, to get rid of me that is..." He was curious why she didn't just let him die, it wasn't like he did anything that nice for her, aside from the advice about her broken ribs, but even that was given in sarcasm. Fabius wasn't sure why he pissed her off all the time, it was just like he had told her, the way she was just screamed for him to torment her and push his limits.

Kana opened her eyes and closed her mouth after the relaxing and pleasing streach. She laid in the shade with her head porped against a tree. While Fabius moved back to his sun bathing rock and spoke she flicked her ears listening to the sounds of bird song.
"You are my packmate. That's why I saved you... and I have seen to many die while I stood aside. Hurts now to see death that I could stop... that and I'm never sure if it is an illusion or real." she barked with an odd tone in her voice. Her words, for once, held no scorn or sarcasm towards Fabius. Mainly because... it was true. Kana smirked at him, "Tempted me a bit though." She let out a light laugh before turning her bright eyes on the sky. The day was warm and bright to her pleasure, with large white towers of clouds.
For the first time in a while she felt a little bit of peace. That she didn't have to keep looking over her shoulder for dangers, whether they be real or fake. Even with Fabius hanging around she felt relaxed and let her senses rest along with her body. Kana sucked up the calm, quiet scenery with a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Her nub of a tail wiggled a bit in playful energy. She twitched her nose slightly befor barking softly, "I love today... despite the broken rip naturally."

Fabius raised his eyebrows and Kana's laugh. She had sctually laughed, it was no gut buster but still, and was that a smile? "Hm, yeah. If your side still hurts you could try laying in the water again. Hopefully without the illusions."
He glanced around the grove, obsurving his handy work. A gentle breeze whispered among the few leaves still clinging to the mangled branches. He winced briefly, thinking he may have gotten a bit carried away. Flicking his ears in different directions, listening to the birds chirping deeper into the grove where the trees hadn't been harmed, he remebered her saying something about not expecting the pack to be up here. "So..is that why you came up here? To relax?"
((OOC - hey K, we need to do something about the convo or the scenery cause it seems to be getting a little dry, if you get my meaning....))

Kana glanced at him while he stared. "You seem suprised. Not used to laughter brute?" she scoffed, but not really in a mean way. She licked the fur along one of her lean legs while he asked about why she had come there. Kana took a moment to think about it, "Yeah I came up here to get some peace. Guess that didn't really work out well did it? Oh well, it wasn't that bad and my side dosn't hurt so much anymore." She was intent on not complaining and really she had nothing to complain about at the moment. Kana was just trying to get away from everything and clear her head, this outing had helped a bit.
"Hey, question." she turned her body towards him to talk. "Tell me... how did you get that leg. W-Well if you don't mind telling me that is," Kana barked. She stood up and shook out her coal black coat to get the dust off. The dobi trotted over and sat at the edge of the boulder looking up at the sky again.

Fabius smirked at her remark about laughter, "Of course, just not from you." The surprised expression returned, however, when she asked about his leg. "Oh, uh..no not at all, no one's really asked before." He glanced down into the metal at his reflection, after all this time it never seemed to lose it's shine.
"I was born at a testing facility, and since I was old enough to bite they...the humans there that is, trained me to protect it." He shifted his paws a bit. "I was the best, everything they wanted, fierce, fast, and I wanted to do the job, it was all I knew." He cleared his throat. "But you didn't ask for a life story, you asked about the leg. Well my partner and I were patrolling the building and there was a fire or something in one of the labs. One minute we were walking down the hall and then there was an explosion and there was fire everywhere. I guess he didn't make it, I was knocked out when something hit my head and I woke up in a cage."
He paused and heaved a sigh. "I was hooked up to all kinds of machines, but I didn't feel any pain, in fact I felt stronger than I did before the accident. I tried to get up, but I couldn't feel my left paw touch the floor. Nothing but metal from my claws to my shoulder. When everything was healed and I was used to the leg, I thought I would get to go back to the job, but I was wrong." Fabius' eyes darkened and his voice got colder. "They kept testing me again and again, running me through obsticals, doing drills, attacking men protected by foam suits, not that it helped. Day after day I did what was asked and then get put cell. I was sick of it, I wanted to work, so I escaped. I bent the bars, cut through anyone who tried to stop me, and jumped through the window and that was it, I was free."
Fabius looked over at Kana and regained his composure. "When I passed out earlier, that was a side effect of the blow to the head I took. I get headaches and happens sometimes without warning, some worse than others. The one you witnessed, was a bad one." His body was cast in shadow as the sun went behind a cloud. It was getting late in the day.

Kana listened intently and her ears perked as he wheeled off his story. "Humans... trashy creatures thay are. Care only for themselves and what they want. What touches them they believe is their's to rule... in your case though." she paused her mini zen lesson, "Once you got that leg and they saw your strength... they wanted it. You were the lab mouse to them. Humans can not be trusted." Her voice sounded as if she had experience in humans, but she said nothing further.
As the darkness began to sweep over the Central Alps she shuddered at the touch of a chilled breeze. The cold winds cut through her thick fur and made her want to dig a burrow and hibernate like a bear. Cold was not her style, it was the anti-christ to her. Kana stood up shivering a bit, her fur ruffled out in patches. "Sheesh, let's head back. It gets dark fast in mountains, I would know. Old group I stayed with lived on the foothills of a big chain of the behemoth cliffs. I got caught in the dark and it took me a full day to get back down to the hills!" By the sound of her voice, a day was a long time to her. Being a tracker even a few hours made her fall in shame.
Kana looked up at him, "Let's move it or lose it." The doberman turned on the tip of her claws, which she oddly did often. You would think her claws wouldn't hold her up, but they swivled easily and left circular marks in the ground.

Kana's words were interesting, it sounded as if she had experienced the dark side to working with humans. But Fabius didn't ask, he had already pried into her personal business enough for the day. "Yeah, we'd better head back before the Boss rips our hides." He stepped from his rock and after a full walking stretch, padded to the edge of the canyon. The cold night wind the plagued even the desert land blew up from the empty spaces of the ravine. A small shiver flickered on his flesh shoulder, his sleek, black pelt was good for just about everything but the cold. When he looked down, he saw the piled remains of the path across. With a heavy sigh he said, "Well we're not getting home that way."
Glancing up at the darkening sky, the clouds were already tinged in an orange glow and the sun lowered to the horizon with each passing minute. Slowly he turned, trotting briskly in the direction of the setting sun. "Come on, we need to find another way across. If we go west, we'll be able to keep as much daylight as possible." Did his statement make sense? Hard to say, but it made sense to him, and that was all he needed.
The grove disappeared behind him and the canyon seemed to go on forever. With night coming fast and no way of crossing in sight, all the male Doberman could think was, 'This is going to be a long trip...'

Kana's tongue rolled over her maw in a quick swipe as she turned with him to look at the setting sun. Her purple eyes glowing various shades of orange, red, purple, and blue. She stood at the edge of the canyon cliff with a grim look on her face. With a tilt of her head she looked over her shoulder.
"Clouds... to dark for even night's gloom. A storm is brewing to the east and from the breeze we both just felt... it is moving fast and right at us. Either we find a path quick or we find shelter quick. The mountains know no mercy," Her eyes showed experience again. The snowstorm that once had gotten her lost had been a terrifying time, but... at least she wasn't alone this time.
With a heavy sigh she leaped a short ways down onto a ledge seeing a widing path carved into the great stone cliff. "We can follow this. Risk falling, stay out of the wind... I at least hope so," Kana's voice was unsure, but she wasn't about to stand around while a heavy storm was rolling in their direction. It was winter and it was cold, and when it rains... what does the cold turn it into? A blizzard.
