I just did a really simple picture tutorial. Obviously, you'll want to make your characters a bit more detailed then what I did. STEP 1: Open Photoshop. Go to File, and then select "Open" to open the Lineart you have saved. Or if you're copying it from a website, copy the picture, open Photoshop, and make a new project. STEP 2: Go to your Layers Tab, which should be located on the side of your window. If it's not, go to "Window" and select "Layers". Once your Layers tab is up, create a new layer. STEP 3: After you made your new layer, change its setting to "Multiply" STEP 4: COLOR AWAY! (Make sure you're on the multiply layer!) You can be as messy as you want. It wont replace your black lines, and you can erase the stuff that goes over the lines very easily in step 6. STEP 5: Once you're satisfied with how you've colored it, go back to your background layer and select the magic wand tool. Now click on the parts on the outside of your Lineart (hold down shift if you need to select more then one part), and then go back to your Multiply Layer. STEP 6: Now, you should still have your magic wand stuff selected. Just press delete, and WALAH! your background is nice and clean. Do any final touchups that you want, and then you're done!
