Northstar & Nibiru
Quiet town, blue skies, gentle breeze from the ocean and the salty scent to relax just slightly.
One would think that these things would prove to be good for the body and soul of the canine body. However, it was far from relaxing as it neared the time the bright burning flame would reach the end of its journey within an hour or so.
I'm hungry Ruru.. when will we stop to eat?
Don't whine like a pup. We'll stop as soon as we pass by this village... I'll steal some fish for the both of us to enjoy. Sound fair Norty?
Both travelers were of characoal pelts. One was a large breed with crimson and yellow eyes while the less hungry companion was of a breed not typically native to this country. He was marred with nasty scars that kept him from looking anything but normal. He too had blood red eyes but his was from a genetic mutation in his family bloodline. His larger companion was marred with scars but he looked even meaner with the maroon ridge starting from his head to his tail tip. Poor boy had a hard life before he was saved by Nibiru and they had been together since that day. Nibiru had always protected him even when he, himself, was no better at fighting than an inexperienced pup.
Walking through the sand, Northstar found playing in the sand to be quite fun, acting like a child who never saw snow. Smirking as he watched the dane mix act so childish and having fun.
He looked around and saw an old shack being lapped at by the ocean softly. It had the blunt signs of being abandoned for quite some time now and would be a perfect place to hide Northstar from others. He was not embaressed but the lack of common sense in his friend, but it was hard to explain to others that he had been beaten as a young pup and so his brain stopped developing and making his thinking more adult.
Yes every canine and human had their own sad tales about their early life, but at least Nibiru could give Northstar a chance to grow more without too many restraints.
Northstar, come here. We'll stay here for a few nights. You'll learn to like the ocean just as much as the forest.
Here? But I thought you didn't want to stay near a human town...
Nibiru shook his head and ignored the chill against his badly scarred shoulder and his leg. It was what he recieved when Northstar snapped with others around. He was an amazing fighter, more dangerous than a large cat, but he could not control what he attacked.
Nonsense... I'll do anything to make you happier than you used to be. Now, stay here while I go find us some food. I'll be back as soon as I can.
Northstar nodded to his older companions words and sat on his haunches as he watched him run off.
Giving a quiet whine, he layed down completely and watched the sun continue to set and the waves gently lap at the shore.
