What a day. The weather was cold and unruly; it looked as if the sky would fall at any moment. But they could not rest, they could not waver. A great danger had come to their lands, and the pack was not yet strong enough to stop it. They needed greater numbers, they needed more strength. And so, the alpha decreed, that like the heroes of old, they must travel Japan and seek out warriors to aid them.
It was only the start of the journey, but these mountains could be treacherous. Skirting the edge of an old hiking trail, the alpha bade his soldiers to halt. There was some chaos up ahead, his ears twitched at the sound of it, Communicating to his warriors for three to follow him, he left the others waiting near the trail. The scent of blood was in the air …
He just couldn't believe it, that damned cat had gotten the drop on him. How could he let that happen? If he wasn't busy fighting for his life, he'd be embarrassed. As of now however, he was too busy trying to live. His back ached, blood dropping thickly down his fur. Moving was difficult with the fresh wounds. The lynx saw this, and lunged. Catching him easily by the leg, it tore a great chunk from him. Tossing him down the hill, the dog rolled to a stop. Struggling to his feet, blood forming a muddy puddle at his paws, the cat lunged. He wasn't going to make it, he could not get up in time!
Stark lunged as soon as the other dog was thrown down the hill. He caught the lynx unawares and slammed it to the ground. The Beauceron hit the lynx with all his might, one of his warriors leaping onto the beast's back. Together they pinned it to the earth. Meanwhile, the other two soldiers had rushed to the injured dog's side. ”Awlright, up you go!” A black female said. ”Yeah, yeah.” Replied a shorter, white one.
The Beauceron had the lynx on its back, a paw on its neck. His battle partner had his muzzle deep in the lynx's belly. Dispatching the cat with his fangs, he left it with its throat torn out. Licking blood from his maw, the Beauceron stepped over the dead beast.
Caspian wavered to his feet, thanking the sisters for their aid. Hobbling to the Beauceron who’d saved him, he bowed his head low. I'm in your debt. How can I ever repay you?” The Beauceron smiled. ”Join my pack.” And so Caspian did.
