The day had just begun and already the behemoth female could feel the uneasiness of the earth around her. As she had got on in years she had become more attuned to the natural world, and had learned to read particular signs in the wind, of the ground, and how the sky carried itself high above. Not many knew of her gift as she preferred to keep them in the dark, thinking it best not to make a spectacle of herself. That being said, the large breed now sat on the side of a rural dirt road, the scent of humans scarce along the path. The sea was not far off as she could smell the salt in the air as it wafted over on a lazy breeze, and the mild thought of the sand on her paws was more than enough to make her yearn for its beaches. Today, however, Barb would not be making the trip down there. There was a heaviness that clung in the air today, a slight howl in the wind that warned of things to come. It unsettled her stomach. A storm was coming, and it would not be an easy ride for the island, that she was certain of.
Suddenly feeling the need to move, to get away, to do something other than laze around the mastiff/st.Bernard cross lurched up from her sitting position. Shikoku was known for its strong fighting dogs, so maybe this wouldn't be the disaster she thought it was? At least not for inland dwellers... she didn't want to think about what might happen to anyone in the water when the time came. With a heavy snort and a brief shake of her thick coat, Barb tossed such thoughts out of mind. There was no need to fret, there was nothing to about it. The skies would rage and the land would shudder, there was no doubt about that at all. And her? Well she'd be darn sure to find suitable shelter by then! And just like that, Barb was on her way back towards the human town, knowing a few places and acquaintances that just might be able to help her out in that department.

A black and dark red she-wolf with her dark red marks in the shape of blood padded through a near by town at the base of Mount Tsurigi. There were many other canines in the town many were strong fighting dogs. The female had always admired the fighting mastiffs and other breed of dogs that fought here. There had been many times that she herself had fought against others, but it was for her life and for the sake of others. But today it just seemed to be the place to be today. Leaving her mate Neon to deal with the pack.
Lyca walked among the humans, but she was no normal cross breed. She had wolf in her and german shepherd. Though in some ways she looked more of a dog than a wolf, but that was only to humans. Most canines could tell that she had wolf, soon Lyca came upon the fighting rink. Humans had started to gather, training their dogs to fight for next week was the fighting dog's feastivle. The time when all fighting dogs came to the island and fought to be champion for the year.

OoC: This can be a great time for Hat to actually meet Lyca..We can say that Oni spoke of Lyca, and Hat already favors her due to Oni's help in fighting off Macabre Militia's intruders.
It was odd that the Queen had stepped out of her home, but for the second time she felt the need to get out. Not only did she want space to breath, but she thought she would find herself within these travels. As you see, Hatshepsut was a fair alpha, one that cared a lot about her followers. And as she cared more and more about them, the less she cared about her self. "Its time that I do things for myself" she spoke, as she slinked pass hybrids and mutts. What is this place? thought the she-dog, never seeing this place before.
Hat kept walking until she saw a large, female dog. She immediately sparked the pure bred's attention, seeing as she was female and powerful looking. Wonder if she's a loner. The tan and brown German Shepherd slowed her pace, knowing that slow movements were much less threatening than fast movements.
"Hello, there. What is this place?" asked she, as she stopped yards away from the mutt (barb).[/size]

((x.x Sorry for the delay, work has been keeping me away.))
The trail had led the large female toward the outskirts of the human settlement, a place she didn't particularly like to hang around for long. Unfortunately, it was necessary to make the occasional trip down here, especially during a storm or when she really got the urge to interact. After all, she had met quite the interesting fellows here when she first arrived! If she was lucky they'd cross paths soon enough, seeing as how these certain acquaintances held a particularly holed up 'territory' in the middle of town that she was sure would hold up during the impending storm. It had been awhile since she'd last visited them, but they had been on good terms before... hopefully they'd remember that.
It was as she was walking and pondering such things that Barb noticed a dog wandering in her direction. Of course, this being Shikoku, it wasn't uncommon to see dogs in the street. What caught her attention though, was that this one seemed to notice her and almost immediately approached her. To which Barb responded with halting her pace and perking her floppy ears, letting the other know she aware of its presence. The German Shepard surprised her with what she said, but it still got a small wag from her barbwire tangled tail. "This just so happens to the be the island of Shikoku," she informed the smaller purebred, "Home of Japan's greatest fighting dogs, and, of course, me", she gave a small genuine laugh in her own amusement. Barb might not have been a trained fighter, but she preferred to hold her own if ever the occasion came to it. And being as big as she was, the st.Bernard cross had a fair grasp on how to handle herself.
"You didn't just make the swim over did you?" She asked, her brows raising slightly in surprise, maybe even alarm. It was true that she couldn't do anything to help anyone stuck in the water currently, but just maybe she could warn someone of the coming dangers. ... Maybe. It would be embarrassing to explain the situation and her gift. Yeah, she'd be leaving that out of the conversation, most likely.

(Its ok. It happens sometimes.)
A black figured raced from the base of the mountain and right into the town. Sniffing the air as she went. Trying to find out where her leader Lyca was. Soon her leader's familiar scent washed over her with a crashing wave. Following it to find the young black and dark red blood marked female sitting by the fighting rink, showing the humans train their dogs. Padding up to her as quietly as possilbe, to no surprise Lyca's ears twitched in her direction. "You should be resting Oni." The black she-wolf flattened her ears to her head.
"I know but I can't just lay around and do nothing. Lyca give me a mission, anything. I know my wounds haven't healed yet but still, I hate having to sit around and do nothing." Oni begged. Small dropps of red liquid fell from Oni's shoulders and left thigh. Lyca looked back at her friend and smiled gentally at her. "How about you come and sit with me a little while." Padding over to the black and dark red female, Oni sat beside her and watched as the training continued.

OoC: Oo woops, since Oni is wounded that means that this takes place after that fight with Talon & Cannibal..So that automatically means that Hatshepsut is also wounded. Lets pretend I said that in my previous post lol
Hatshepsut looked up at the brawnier female as she answered the alphess with little trouble. "Island of Shikoku" repeated the German Shepherd, trying to engrave that in her mind especially knowing that this place was known for its fighting dogs. It would become useful during her recruitment.
The Queen's red eyes studied the dog's demenor and physical build. She seemed like she lacked the agression that a lot of random dogs usually had, but had the body to shut any cocky-ass up. Hmm, a win-win member to Hatsheput. But the question was, would her friend want to join forces with her to destroy the empire that screwed her over about a year ago? She didn't even know if she already belong to a street pack, if so would she want out?
The brown and tan pure bred cocked her head to the side as the Saint Bernard mix asked her if she swam to the island. In reality, she didn't swim over to the island at all. She had hitched a ride with a cargo boat the night before. As Hatshepsut was in no physical condition to strain her body. She shifted her weight to her haunches as she reclined to a sit. It was evident that she had been in a fight not so long ago, as her left leg especially seemed to be all bruised and scarred up.
OoC;; So Hatshepsut doesnt know that Oni/Lyca are around yet lol

Patiently Barb waited for any sort of indication that the pure bred had more to say, but it seemed this new acquaintance wasn't as much of a talker as our St.Bernard here. That was fine, the large female decided, and gave the German Shepard a pleasant smile that lulled over the whole of her face. Her mastiff jowls especially making the expression easily recognizable. "So, if you like I can show you around the island for a bit?", she offered politely, with no hint of shyness or meek attitude. Barb, being as big as she was, wasn't easily threatened by new comers or strangers and this shepherd had shown no signs of an ill-demeanor. "Of course, the best attractions are in the human village, unfortunately. Though I doubt we'll be bothered, what with training for the festival and all."
With a quick yawn and a stretch of her back legs, the large dog started forward, keeping her pace slow so as not to seem in a rush. Of course this was killing two birds with one stone. By taking this stranger into the village she would be helping out and hopefully find those two acquaintances she had meant to look for earlier. "Would you like to see some of the fighting dogs? They're quite a sight to see, and more often than not at least someone is usually training." With a flick of her barbed wire tail, Barb paused mid-step to glance over her shoulder and see if the Shepperd would be following.

Lyca watched as the humans and canines around her and Oni trained. I gental smile graced the female alpha's maw. She liked to watch as the males trained and fought against each other, she was always intreged by them. Oni noticed the smile on her leader's maw and wondered what she was doing here in the first place. "Lyca." The black and dark crimson blood marked she-wolf looked at her comrade. "What is it Oni?" the female asked her.
There was always something about the way Lyca looked at everyone in that pack that made Oni think that there was always something that Lyca was hiding and no one knew what it was. "I was just wondering why you were here at the fighting rink? I mean I don't understand the reason for being near the pets and the humans." the black she-wolf said. Lyca sighed and grined at her friend. "I'm here to watch and see if there might be any male that would like to join the pack. Besides Hokaku and Kin are on their way here so that they can watch. They have mastiff blood in them and I want them to learn the way of the fighting dogs." the alpha female told her packmate.
Meaning while Hokaku and Kin; the two mastiff mix siblings raced down the mountain, their hearts racing and the longing to see the fighting dogs go head to head. They both wanted to be there and see how to fight like a fighting dog and they could barely contain their excitiment when their leader; Lyca had told them to met her at the fighting rink.
