The had traveled so far, their paws felt like they were going to fall off and their lungs ached to breath. Here it was only the journey's beginning and they'd ran such great distances. The pack of dogs was in no way small, already they had gathered a good number. But more were needed, more brave souls must fight. They had to save Ohu, oh, but not for themselves. For Ohu was a legendary place and a beacon of hope, it was a paradise for dogs that must never meet an end!
Perhaps it almost had, once. Futago Pass had been an empty place, Gajou an abandoned pile of stones. Ohu territory had been quite the ghostly place before he'd arrived. Stark took no credit in this regard however, he just saw a place in need and went to do what he could to help. Long ago he had vowed never to let an innocent suffer again, not on his watch. This was what Ohu was for, a sanctuary for all. But it was the dogs who'd come that made Ohu what it was, one canine alone did not change things. Thanks to the growing number of the pack, Ohu was haven for everyone. Over the passing spring several pups had been born, new faces had appeared, and tranquility seemed imminent. With all things like this however, danger reared its ugly head. And now Ohu needed those who could fight, to protect those who couldn't. Ohu must not fall! Stark vowed to protect it at any cost.
”Halt.” Abruptly spoke the slate gray and blue alpha. Immediately the dogs at his back stopped, the over a dozen or so canines glad for the break. Stark stepped ahead of the group by several paces, looking out over the cliff they had arrived to. He knew that if they wished to proceed, this obstacle must not be allowed to hinder them. Finally he turned back to his pack, his orders being given. ”There is a chasm separating the path ahead. Some will be able to jump it, others will not. Because of this we will separate into two groups. Sub-platoon A will leap the chasm. All dogs capable of the feat headed towards the cliff. If anyone has even the slightest doubt that they will make it, stay here with me. Those who are unable to jump the distance will come with me, we will take the old game trail down the cliffs. It will be a longer journey, but we must not lose anyone. Platoon A, go! The rest of you, this way.”
And so the pack split, the fir group rushing the canyon. A flurry of dogs soared over the gap, hitting the other side in a plume of dust before continuing onward. Stark waited to make sure all had completed the crossing, then led his group onward. Following the old trail down the cliff would take some time, but it was necessary for the good of the pack.
))Open to anyone seeking to join Ohu's pack.((
