The sandy shores of Shirahama coast seemed to be empty this evening. Humans and dogs were most often seen during the day lounging and playing in the surf, but as the sun set and night stirred, the beach inhabitants retired to their warm homes for the night. Other than the minuscule amount of beach-dwelling creatures such as crabs or seagulls, there were no witnesses to this night's visitors. Two dogs had chosen this night to make the swim from Shikoku and had just reached land. One happened to be Manabu, a 31in mutt of the large/heavy breeds, and his runt brother Daichi. Both dogs shook the excess water from their coats and snarled bitterly at the cold of the winter season. Manabu, the lighter colored of the two, took the time to inspect their surroundings, his hulking form still in the night. "Brings back memories, doesn't it brother?" the beast of a dog spoke, his voice as hollow as always.
The night was cold. He was wet and tired, and all Daichi could think about right now was getting something to eat. The 27in mutt of muscle to spare glanced briefly at his brother as he mentioned something about memories. "Yeah, sure." Not that he shared those memories. You see, Daichi's mind wasn't what it use to be, and it's been on the rocks since their early childhood. He was simple, he knew that, but he was still Daichi in a way. With a grunt the smaller dog began forward, unaware of what they might be doing here or where his brother might want to go. He figured Manabu would tell him eventually.

The night air stung the throats of the two mastiff mix siblings as they looked for a place to rest. After leaving their pack for a few days to train with each other, it seemed right to return home. Hokaku, was has a white muzzle, white around eyes, white paws, and white tip of tail.Light blonde colored pelt like her mother Blondie.Thin figure like her mother but a little muscualr.Sharp fangs and claws. Her brother Kin; has black ears, paws, and black marks around eyes.White muzzle, muscular body build.Blonde pelt with a dark blonde spot on back.Sharp fangs and claws.
Stopping for a moments rest, Kin sniffed the air finding nothing but the scent of salt water and humans with their pets. "We should find something to eat and then find shelter." the large male told his sister. Hokaku dipped her head in agreement with her brother, "You know Lyca won't be happy when we get back. But I guess its for the best in some ways. I'll find the shelter if you find the food." the she-dog barked at her brother.
Both agreeing with the other, they seperated to search for what they needed for the night. Tomorrow would be the day that returned and would be punished for leaving the pack without letting the alphas know anything. Hokaku looked around, her eyes glanced back and forth trying to find the best shelter for the night and just as she came to the beach she spotted a large black heap. An old ship that seemed to have been sitting on the shore for years. "That might work..." The young female thought to herself.

Manabu wasn't bothered by his brother's attitude, nor did he particularly care. To him, Daichi was just an extension of himself, a tool to be utilized and used as he saw fit. How did it come to such an arrangement? Well his brother followed his every order since they were pups, and it was easy to remind of just who was the bigger and stronger of the pair. "Find me after you get something for us to eat", Manabu snapped in his brother's direction, sharp fangs glinting in the pale moonlight. The night's chill was getting to him, and the hulk of a dog was tired from their swim over. He'd be darn sure to find somewhere suitable to sleep before his brother showed up with a meal.
Daichi merely snarled over his shoulder at his brother's harshness, continuing inland for better hunting ground. He was use to Manabu telling him what to do, in fact he was lost without such direction. Focused on his current goal of hunting, the darker colored mutt shifted into a quicker pace, his large body silent save for the hushed padfalls of his paws. Where Manabu beat him in mental smarts, Daichi easily out performed his massive brother in the physical department. He was quick, strong, agile, and an experianced hunter and fighter. Finding something to eat as well as his way back would be no problem for the mutt-dog.
As Daichi moved off toward the bamboo forests of the island, Manabu turned his attention further down the beach. It was quite possible to find shelter without heading toward the human settlements, which is what Manabu preferred. He kept his pace slow and steady, his bulging form towering over the sand. It would need to be a fairly roomy thing he supposed, for both him and his brother to fit. Just what could be big enough?

Hokaku moved closer to the abandon ship that sat upon the shore. There was no smell of human but a very faint scent of canine. Jumping up to the deck, the young cream colored she-dog looked inside the hub of the ship, there were stairs leading down below the deck. "This place looks like it could house a whole pack or more. This place will have to do as shelter for the night. I just hope Kin will be ok out there hunting." The young mastiff mix was afraid for her brother. They had always been close and together no matter what they did. It just seemed strange to be away from her brother, but she knew that he could take care of himself easily.
Kin sniffed around the bamboo, looking for some sign of prey. After a few long mintues that seemed to last hours, the scent of rabbit filled his scent glands. Without waiting another a second, the male mastiff mix raced off after the scent. "I'll have to get this for me and Hokaku both. Either of us have eaten in three days so this'll be a good meal for the two of us even if it is small." the male thought to himself.
