The quiet morning was unheard of for the town that had hosted the fighting dog championship. The town had been in an up-roar a month ago, humans running here and there, watching as the pararide of dogs went by. Still now the quiet serenity had taken over the land, winter had come. And with it, the endless sea of white snow that covered the town in a blanket of cloud. In this hep of snow strode a medium sized male, his light mahogany and cream coat was eye catching to any who saw him.
Three scars traced his face... One over his right eye, and two others on the opposite cheek. His one blue eye... very obversant and alert, ears erect and listening. Youta was his name, he was still a young male who had been through alot in his first year of life. The near loss of his sister and now the longing for something to do with his life, just not knowing what it was.
As the male past the once filled fighting dog rink, his eye glanced inside. The cheers of the humans and barking of the dogs that had been there those days to watch.... It only made him even more relieved that he was a feral dog and not a pet. But just as he faced ahead of himself, a flash of shadow whizzed by, barely catching a glips of what had past. His muscles ceased up instantly, hackles raised and ready for a fight if he were attacked.
"You had better come on out and face me!" the great dane mix barked at the hidden figure. Youta would not allow anything to attack him without his knowing of it. Growling deep in his throat was all he could do to keep himself from moving and making the first strike.

Karinne stepped from the shadows, her black fur giving off a metallic blue shine. After hearing about such a tournament she was excited, but of the many dogs that gathered here, whether they were feral or tethered to their humans, he was one of the bigger ones. Dashing out of sight again she appeared on his other side. "Why would I face you?" She questioned, dashing out of sight again. "Wouldn't that be unfair?" She barked, jumping in front of him. "For you?" She grinned widely, showing off her sharp teeth. Suddenly her ears flipped up, and she looked over her shoulder, the fights were starting, and she was even in the line up yet!

Snarling the canine that whipped by and then vanished, made Youta very uneasy about being here. The sound of the crowd roaring with excitiment only made his skin crawl even more with uneasiness. Many humans who didn't have dogs to fight, took feral ones and made them fight. The mahogany colored male grunted and turned to leave, he had reason to really be there. That was until he heard human foot steps from behind him.
Without glancing over his shoulder, Youta whipped around and lunged at the tall human who towered over him. The male knocked the man down and ran towards the rink. A fight a not just begun just yet, but it would be his only chance to stay free if he entered the rink and fought.

As Karinne stood in line eight places from the ring, she thought back to the large dog she had met earlier. She felt kind of bad now, had she mistaken his fear for hostility? Suddenly she saw the bulk of a massive dog hurtle by, two other dogs at the front of the line had just begun to get registered for weight and height to make it an even battle but it appeared someone else was already in the ring. Karinne tried to look around the muscular tall dogs around her, but she couldn't see if it was truly the dog that she had met earlier.
She watched a tall human hurdle after the dog that went by, but nothing else unusual. Her stomach began to churn now,and her confidence vanished. Realization hit her like a brick. There was no turning back now. She couldn't leave, she was boxed in by people and dogs. If she lost she died. There were many dogs ahead of her that looked twice her size, and some even twice her speed and age. Fear gripped her from her half ground submerged claws to the end of her bristled fur. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." She murmured quietly to herself, over and over again.

After jumping over the tall chain metal rink that would soon be covered in blood, spit and fur from the battling dogs. The shock and ahs from the humans who gawked at him, the mahongany male was not about to let some human take his freedom no matter what. Just as Youta looked around the crowd of people and dogs, there boxed in by humans and dogs was the canine that had threatened him. Smirking at the dog, the male lifted his head and howled.
He was ready for a fight and the dogs wanted to fight then so be it. Fortunely for him, he knew many ways to get out of the rink and head for the mountain area. But even in the mountains were dangerous that he didn't know about. "I challenge any and all dogs who think they can best me in a fight!!!" the one blue eyes dog barked at all the surrounding males and females. If you had the guts to fight then he was willing to accept the challenge.

Karinne heard the howl from the ring, and immediately recognized the cocky voice of the other dog. Thunderous challenges could be heard from inside the ring, and they were shortly followed by what sounded like answering snarls. Suddenly the line budged, and a few dogs sprinted back in vain attempts to escape. They too were boxed in by the human ring.
Karinne awaited in silence, for the sounds of tearing flesh and whimpers. Once again a wave of dogs flew back, and suddenly Karinne was only three dogs behind. But ahead of her were no pups. One was a GIANT purely black mastiff cross. His fur was sleek and black, and if she hadn't looked twice, she may have mistaken him for bear. Behind him a wary Irish Wolfhound cross stood, he looked tall and fast. Behind even hm was a well muscled doberman, equipped with what looked like some form of weapon. She wasn't entirely sure if anyone was ahead of that, but he prayed there was someone to separate her from these colossal fighters.
Looking through the maze of dog and human legs, she tried to catch the eye of the mahogany canine.

A liver roan coated german shorthaired pointer entered the rink. One of the male's paws was covered in a tight bandage, two of his toes had been modified to carry two steel claws or talons as others thought they were. The mahongany male looked at the male, his blue eye flared with excitiment. A sneer was on his maw, "So you've accepted my challenge? What is your name dog?" Youta barked at the male. The mahongany male was interested what this male had been saddled with when it came to humans giving names to animals.
The german shorthaired pointer glared at the mahongany great dane mix. The scars on his face told Raptor that he was a fighter and had experience in fighting others. "The name is Raptor and you?" The pointer was not in the mood to talk, but if he managed to win then he wanted the other males to know his name. Youta grunted at the name, "A strong name for a warrior." the great dane smirked at the pointer.
"My name is Youta. No holding back... this is an offical fight! No one but the two enter this rink will fight." Youta barked out over the roaring humans who cheered on the pointer. Scanning the edge of the rink, Youta tried to find the young canine he had met eariler but there were many humans and many dogs that stood in the way of his vision.

Karinne lept in the air, in an attempt to scout over the other canines. A metallic clank had echoed in the area, originated from the arena, and suddenly her heart sped up a few beats. Gathering her muscles, she hopped into the air, and landed on the back of the black mastiff. He growled, but she silenced him with a quick glance. She strained to hear their voices over the crowd. From what she could tell, they were introducing themselves. The name 'Raptor' was flung into the air, and people hungrily cheered the dogs name. Karinne strained harder. Very faintly but proudly, she heard the name 'Youta'.
Karinne grinned and barked loudly, her voice rising above the rest. "Youta... go Youta!" A few dogs looked at her crazily and the name rippled uneasily in the crowd. Suddenly the dog beneath her shuffled, and she crashed onto the ground. A yelp squeaked from under her, and when she rolled over she noticed she had fallen atop the Wolfhound cross. She rolled away, and he snapped nimbly and speedily at her neck. Swiftly she dodged, and dove under his tall body, arriving on his other side. She took a massive bite into his shoulder, that sent him reeling. He lept back, and she took the opportunity to claw him over the eye. With unknown speed the dog flashed past. She spun to look at him, and his lips were stained with her blood. Suddenly a searing pain his her shoulder.
"You can't fight a female!" someone from behind her shouted. As soon as he had attacked, the other dogs begin to tear apart the wolfhound. Karinne took the time to leap back onto the Mastiffs shoulder. The fight looked as if it were just beginning. "Go Youta!" She howled.

Youta could hear his name being called over the roar of the humans cheering. His blue eye scanned the rink outline and there on a large mastiff's shoulder sat the stranger from eariler. She was rooting for him to win, a smirk creased his maw. "Lets get started." The pointer lunged at the great dane mixed, who side stepped avoiding the sharp blades that came from the male's paw. 'I have to be careful with this guy.' the male thought to himself.
The fight had started and there didn't seemed to be anything wrong with it now. Yet there was something in the air, a strange feeling that made the male shack. It was excitiment of the fight but also the roar of the crowd that drew his attention on his enemy. Little did anyone in the area no that there were a few dark shadows moving from the mountain pecks to the fighting rink. [/center]

Twisting her head around Karinne felt a crackle in the air. Humans weaved in and out of the area, their bird like vices chirping and hooting to each other. They pointed at he dogs in the rings and threw their food at the ground. Karinne shifted disdainfully. They're loud voices rang out distractingly, and Karinne growled in annoyance.
A foreign scent drifted across the wind. Karinne lifted her head to greet it and looked around. She couldn't pinpoint it, but the thought it was coming from the mountains. Ignoring the possible scent, she stretched high and peered into the battle. Things looked to just be getting heated.

((OOC: Hope you two don't mind if I join in? If you do just tell me.))
From the mountains came a dark shadow indeed. This dark shadow was lean and strong, but not what most would expect, the blackness of its pelt blinded in nicely with the shadows of the surrounding trees and soon to be the buildings and humans and dogs that surrounded the rings. The dark crimson blood like marks already made it look as though this creature had been wounded and would not live much longer, but this animal was full of fire and health. The dark crimson eyes that peered out from the forest to the town and the humans that hurried to the fighting rings made an evil grin spread across its maw.
Dashing from the forest to the buildings at the edge of town, the canine raced behind some human offspring to the fighting rings. Another shadow past on the outside of the buildings, this shadow was fast but what stood out about it was the rattling of a chain collar that was around its neck. On the other side of the buildings running along the black and dark crimson blood marked animal was a yellowish akita inu mix. The two kept in pace with each other, just as they two reached the ring, the chain stopped rattling so much as a male doberman joined the two she-anmials.
The black and dark crimson blood marked she-wolf looked at her friends and motioned with her nose to move to the ring and to move any out of their way. The three canines start to move through the crowd, most of the dogs that see them move out of their because they know that these dogs are feral.
