White.... White.... White.... It was all Kyouran could see as he tried hard to concentrate on putting one black paw in front of the other. They were swollen and cold, he no longer felt the pain that stabbed through his legs. His gray fur was soaking wet as he had fallen into the deep snow more than once, causing him to shiver slightly even though his body felt pretty much numb. There was no sun on the dark winter sky, and even if there was, Kyu doubted it would be enough to get him warm. His mind was getting clouded as he unconsciously slowed his already sluggish pace, and it was as if his legs were getting heavier with each passing second, and so were his eyelids for that matter. He was aware of the fact that with his exhausted and weak body it would be extremely unwise to stay out in this weather for much longer, but it was so hard to just stay awake. "Bloody snow.... Whoever said Hell was hot.... dammit! World's gotta hate me.... yeah.... that must be it...."He had a sudden need to lash out at someone, but being as his only company were trees that still stood tall and proud, as if mocking him, he satisfied himself with a growl that escaped his throat. The unfairness of his situation angered him more than many insults thrown his way over the time. He had escaped from that damn dog pound a few months back, and was slowly gathering his strength and learning to manage in the wild, when he had run into a snow blizzard, after which his luck turned for worse. Much worse. All the small animals he could hunt had gone away or hid so he, untrained in that area, was incapable of finding them, and the larger ones that he still saw from time to time, he just wasn't fast enough to catch. So he was now left in the forest he didn't know with no food and cold-frozen is maybe a better word, and for a moment he thought how similarly miserable he felt while his owner still held him, only now he didn't have to fear the beatings and no yelling could be heard. "So quiet.... and still i can hear the fate laughing at me.... cruel.... but i guess this is the punishment I deserve.... it's cold.... empty." For the first time in a long time Kyu wished he had someone beside him, someone who wouldn't try to bring him down but instead help, a friend.... maybe.... After a few more steps he finally collapsed, eyes closing.... As the darkness engulfed him, he thought he heard something nearby, someone.... "But no.... i just... imagined...."

“Snow oh snow. Speak to me oh snow.” Whispered the blissful collie as he crunched through the snow. Even though he was better suited for the frosty environment of Japan, but not immune to it, like everyone else, the cold can still kill him but his thick fur can temporarily prevent that for a while. The collie mix bodaciously plowed through the snow and raging winds of Japan as he search for shelter and food. “The Heavens are angry today, this blizzard is so blinding and ungrateful. Truly this must be my first test of endurance in Japan.” He said. The Collie continued to keep on moving, knowing if he dares stop, he’ll be a frozen Popsicle treat to others after this storm. He lifted up his red nose in the air as the wind swirled and twirled his long collie fur, which was of the colors of Black and white with red and yellow markings. He face was white as a bleach skull with more yellow and red markings and his eyes where entirely pale blue and pupil-less but fully visual. His Rudolph like nose twitched in the wind as he caught a pale sent of frozen death. This is his chance to find sustenance, he must not hesitate like so. The Collie charged forth like a wolf and began to searched for that scent, when he pinpointed the location he dug into the snow and drew out a dead frozen pheasant, possibly it died for being unable to escape the unpredictable weather of Japan. The Collie smiled as he picked up his frozen dinner up and began to find a safe wind resistant shelter within the deep part of the forest. Then…He saw something in the snow. A weak but large dog within the snow. He was not sure of what his breed was, but the dog was surly larger and heavier that himself, but not in the best of shape. Cautiously, he crept closer to the weather-beaten dog, seeing some scars on him and possible damages that seem to have healed over. Usually, the Collie would ignore any strangers, but he felt pity for the dog. For some reason, he began to walk towards the strange, cautiously but curiously.

As his consciousness slowly returned to him, Kyu was becoming painfully aware of his frozen body. The cold wind blew fiercely, hitting him like knives. The darkness still surrounded him, and he tried to gather enough energy to open his eyes. His vision was blurry and his eyes hurt, but he forgot about that the second he saw a pair of multi-colored paws not too far away from where he lay. He instinctively tried to stand up and confront whoever that someone was, but his body just wouldn't move. Only a hoarse, barely audible growl came from his throat as he continued to lay on the ground, watching the dog intently. He could now see that the dog was a black and white collie, maybe not pure collie but it was the breed that dominated his looks, with nice red and yellow marks on his face, front legs, back and tail. The dog was a bit smaller than him, but Kyu felt he wouldn't stand a chance if he attacked. Helpless as he was, he could just hope the collie wasn't looking for a fight. Wanting to start a conversation of some kind to show the dog he didn't want any trouble, he tried to speak only to start coughing uncontrollably as he recognized the taste of blood in his mouth. "Oh great.... This is exactly what I needed...." When the coughing stopped, his raw throat hurt too much for him to try to speak again, so he just waited for the other dog to make a move....[/color]

"Are you alright?" he said as he dropped his frozen bird. "Mind if I say, you look like as if you face a couple of obstacles in our life. Sorry if I sound a bit judgmental." He cautiously neared the dog, tail not raised or tucked between legs, he was showing so signs of possible aggression. "Sound like you have a bad cough there. It will worsen if you linger here in the frozen wasteland, but I got to fin shelter too,"

Kyu listened to the dog carefully, and relaxed as he seemed to have no intentions of starting a fight. He tried to speak again, more cautiously this time, and was glad to find that he could actually say something without the feeling of his throat being ripped out: "It's a-alright.... Shelter s-sounds wonderful, but it w-would be a r-real challenge finding it in this w-weather, and in my c-case, getting there..." Kyu tried to sound as friendly as possible, although he had a feeling he was failing miserably. "My name is Kyouran by the way, Kyu for short.

"My name is Alistair." he said politely, "I've heard there was a old hut or some kind of dugout near by in this par of the forest, but that if we can find it in this God-Forsaken weather. Hopefully it should die down eventually, all storms do.... And lets hope we don't run into thugs while we're at it." He picked up the pheasant and began to head towards where he thinks the shelter should be at, hopefully. "So... How long have you been here? Are you too a stray?" He asked out of curiosity. He began to feel the cold penetrate his fluffy coat like a bullet, they had to find shelter soon.

"So, nearby you say.... well it's worth a shot." Kyu said now more enthusiastically, slowly trying to get to his paws. His body felt numb and he could barely control his movements, but still he somehow succeeded in getting up. "Now walking...." Slowly and carefully, he started following after Alistair. "So... How long have you been here? Are you too a stray?" he heard him say, "Not too long I guess, but yeah, I am.... now." Kyu shivered slightly as his fur was still pretty wet, but company took his mind off of his own problems, giving him the strength to keep walking, and possibly find a shelter from this damn weather.

"I been one for only a few weeks her in... Japan.... You can say I'm new around here.... Hold up, I think I can see it." Suddenly Alistair halted as he peered through the whirling snow as saw a large darn formation near small hill side, or combined with the hillside. It looked like a large weathered old hut sticking out of the hill itself like a dugout. The window where cracked yet intact and the door was slung to the left side, off of nearly all of it hinges, dangling on one rusted out hing. The place look deserted and complete trashed with dark cloth in the interior. But it was still shelter. "Hurry, lets get out of this damn cold." He said as he crept inside.

"I been one for only a few weeks her in... Japan.... You can say I'm new around here.... Hold up, I think I can see it" Alistair said as he suddenly stopped and Kyu looked ahead, trying to see what he was talking about. The snow was still falling and it didn't help him see any better, but still he could make out a silhouette of some kind of hut or something. It wasn't too far away, and he was thankful he would soon get out of this bloody snow. "Finally.... my wish really isn't to freeze out here. And this Alistair guy looks OK to me. Maybe.... but no, I guess no one would really want a companion who can't fight or hunt...." When he looked at the "hut" once again, he noticed how trashed it looked, but he still thought it was a lot better than staying outside, at least he would be able to dry off and get some rest if nothing happend. "Hurry, lets get out of this damn cold", completely agreeing with Alistair, Kyu nodded and slowly followed him inside. Now standing in the hut, he looked around to see that the place was in even worse shape than he had originally thought, but it was also warmer. It was good enough for him, as he moved to a corner that seemed to be warmest, and laid down. "So, you said you haven't been in Japan for long, right? If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" Kyu paused, than added, "I have lived in Japan all my life, but in the outside world.... only a few months, so, I think we are both new to this place in some way."

"I've came from Paris, France." He said as he ripped the frozen bird in half and toss the biggest to the withered large dog. "I use to be a show dog to a snotty mistress who kept calling be by Scarlet, not giving a damn that I was a male. You may think the rich life is great but it suffocating, specially when you being force to be a show dog, I always dreamed of being out in the wild or a least a true herding. Thankfully the mistress finally disowned me after figuring out I was part Chow Chow." He exposed the blue tongue (Blue-black or purplish in real life) that regularly been seen with all chows. "I got re-adopted and found myself on a cruise ship. But suddenly that ship go eliminated by a hurricane and I was dragged under by that wretched salty water. You can say I washed up here in Japan. I am certain that my new owner is now 20,000 leagues under the sea. All I have is this collar she got me with a special message on it."

"I've came from Paris, France." Alistair said as he tossed him a big piece of the bird he had found earlier. Kyu was surprised, not used to being treated this well, but he took the offered food non the less, grateful: "Thank you. For the food as well as for bringing me here." He bit down into the bird (the part of the bird that had been given to him) and the frozen meat felt much tastier to him than it was in reality. He listened as Alistair continued: "I use to be a show dog to a snotty mistress who kept calling be by Scarlet, not giving a damn that I was a male. You may think the rich life is great but it suffocating, specially when you being force to be a show dog, I always dreamed of being out in the wild or a least a true herding. "That sounds tiring, being forced to do something you don't really want to, but I guess even that's better than having a mentally wasted owner...." He sighed, lowering his head as all the dark memories swirled inside of him, his hatred of humans threatening to overwhelm him. He really didn't want to lose control and hurt Alistair, or, what would be more likely to happen, himself. The dust of the hut entered his nostrils as he took a deep breath trying to calm himself, but he just started coughing again, not as much as the last time, but it was enough to make him dizzy from lack of air. When the world stopped spinnin', he spoke: "So, you mentioned a message, right? Mind sharing?" It was not common for him to talk much or act friendly around others, let alone show interest in their past, but it was exhausting always being alone and having no one to talk to. So he was doing his best to try and change that. Besides, doing nothing gave him time to think about his past, and he hated it.
