The Dream Eater
He couldn't take this land. He couldn't bear to be here for one more moment, not like this. How desperatly Baku wished he could go back to the old days when his powers were weaker, more controllable... able to turn off. It had been a mistake to come to this war-ridden land. He could feel the tension and hatred of generations well between his toes with each step. Cold shivers curled like a cat between his shoulders, whispering crawling in his veins as the ghastly remains of the Koga and Iga of the past wished to take hold of his body to continue their war. They couldn't, they never would... but their voices were so pleading, has he not become accustumed to this Baku would have already found a nice cliff to jump off. With a scowl he continued at an oddly lazy run for how desperatly he wished to escape their whispers. "Please relent." They pushed off from his body, the pressure releasing for the time being. Though they could not fight against his wish he still found it rude to command such warriors. Their fighting spirits had kept them tied to this soil for so long... it made his heart ache for them. "The war is over. Relent. Release this hold." Baku whispered back to them. Whether they listened or not was not his problem. The wolf mix slowed to a walk to catch his breath, which was lost despite the fact his breathing seemed perfectly stable. He was very good at covering up weakness, but that didn't mean he didn't have it. In fact, physically Baku was pathetic. Only this gift and curse of his kept him going. If he had been of weaker heart he would have long ago ended his life, but when your only allies were that of the past... this power was his lifeline. He smiled faintly as he walked past a noble dog, nose still tilted to scent the air. The proud Koga wasn't aware the mortal gazed at him in praise, to busy reliving the past behind glassy eyes. Baku turned away and let out a pleased sigh as the intensity of his power faded some. He'd fatigued himself enough to quell it now, only glimpses of movement in the trees still stayed with him or the passing of a truly powerful spirit. This land was so cursed, but to the Iga and Kogo so blessed. "How your decendants would be proud to know so many stay loyal, but would be so ashamed at your haunting. Move on." The moment his words evaporated into the cool, night air the sounds of a fellow mortal's rustling of leaves alerted him to their presence. Who else lurked the night on such a blessed and haunted land? [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Raziel was padding along his territory alone. Things had been lonely for him lately. Kasumi, his mate, had left for the time being, and his brother Zehel had run off in a rage that the elder brother himself caused. The pack was not happy with him, and hell, he wasn't happy with him either. Even his pups were angry with him. Nothing was going right lately....
With a sigh, the giant canine picked himself up and continued on his patrol. Everything seemed to be in order, except for maybe the weather. It was surprisingly nice for a winter evening, and though the temperatures were dropping fast as they gave into the night, Raziel felt at ease. At least nature would always exist in its own bizarre order, even when his own life was a mess. Raziel stopped, lifting his nose to the air as a breeze came by and ruffled the Mohawk on his head.
Immediately, the co-alpha's ears perked up. There was an unfamiliar scent wafting over the land. A visitor? Someone who might want to join them? It was all possible. Calmly, Raziel rolled his massive shoulders before setting off at a brisk trot towards the intruder. Eventually, he came to the spot where Baku was standing, and decided that a surprise entrance would not be in order here; he canine seemed to be a bit out of it, though, Raziel didn't know that he was seeing his ancestors wandering the lands. In any case, he made his presence known so as to not scare off the canine before him, and gently stepped through the bushes.
"Hello," he called calmly. "These are the lands of Koga. Do you have business here or are you just walking by passively?"

The Dream Eater
Baku's blank eyes turned as he tilted his head to see behind him. At the appearance of what looked to be a Koga descendant he fully turned to face the other. As had become a habit, Baku immediatly focused on the air around Raziel. In the corners of his eyes he could faintly see his own curling, silver aura and across from him the Koga's body shifted in a vibrant orange, albeit he could see faint tinges of a murky pink fighting with sky blue. An interesting character indeed. For the most part this dog seemed a social and caring person, the blue showing a strong affection for some, though the dark pink pointed towards the abilities of a trickster. Oh well. Baku relaxed his mind, but the auras only faded. He'd regained his breath and his powers were no longer fatigued. Baku was lucky he got this much of a rest. "Sight-seeing. There is much to see here, afterall... for someone like me, I suppose." The wolf mix's lips twitched upwards slightly as a passing Iga spirit narrowed its eyes on Raziel before it faded into the night. Almost immediatly the look was gone and he returned his pale purple eyes to the Koga mix. "So it is true the Koga still live? Oh... how rude. I am Baku. I apologize for not introducing myself before." The entire time his expression remained the same blank look, not that he had any emotions to show off right now. At the moment he only entertained curious thoughts of the Kogas still remaining and naturally assessing if the one before him would make any violent actions, though from the aura he thought not. Baku sat calmly, dark purple against a nearly black background. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"So it is true the Koga still live? Oh... how rude. I am Baku. I apologize for not introducing myself before."
Raziel smiled kindly. The dog before him, now revealed as Baku, was a strange character for sure, but the Co-Alpha was not upset at his appearance or scared in any way. In fact, it was rather refreshing to see a unique dog now that his own packmates seemed to avidly avoid him....
"And I should have introduced myself too. I am Raziel, one of the Alphas of the Koga Ninja Clan. And with that, I believe I answered your question, though, it's a bit more complex then that. My younger brother and I are trying to revive the Koga pack and reclaim our pride and honor as one of Japan's most respected hounds, after Ohu that is. Mostly, I'm helping because I want to erase all the bad connotations that come to mind when others think of this group. No cannibalism happens here, and no wars. Everyone is welcome to join, so long as they can learn the ways of the ninja. So my friend, what brings you here? If it is merely only sightseeing, I can guide you through here safely without anyone attacking or questioning your presence here."
