From cold and icy mountains to warm and sunny beaches, Kris was sure the traveler. At first she had welcomed the bright rays of the sun, but as time passed, she began to detest it. Her dark coat absorbed the heat, which made her begin to overheat. Luckily the german shepard x shikoku ken cross was able to cool off slightly by walking through the gentle waves. The cool water did wonders to her hot body. Around her she could see fish swimming around, their sliver bodies glistening in the sunlight. Kris' belly growled, a reminder that it had been awhile since she had last eaten. Without a thought, she pounced at one, a curse coming from her when she missed.
"Stay still," she growled, trying once more without success. She came close on her fifth attempt, but still she had no fish. Though it wasn't her fault, she had never learned to fish, for she had grown up in a mostly snowy environment that lacked fish. Water splashed every where as she once again launched herself after the fish. By now she was soaked and in a very pissed off mood. "Damn these fish," the words came out as a snarl as she slashed the water with her paw. Giving up she walked away from the fish; she felt as if they were laughing at her.
With a still empty stomach, Kris went to find some shade to rest under, luckily there was a small pier. She welcome the shade as she walked under the pier and laid down, the sand sticking to her wet body. Her one golden eye gazed about, she was tired, she had not slept in the last three days. This isn't good, Kris thought. Hunger makes you weak, while tiredness makes you unalert... But she couldn't sleep here, she had to move on, she had to go... Somewhere. But where? She had long lost a reason to do anything but wander, though she never forgot the reason why she wandered. Her muzzle twisted into a snarl as she remembered the day they took her brother's life. Thinking those things was never good. They always put her in a far worse mood. [/blockquote] [Hope this is okay, I'm a bit rusty ^^;]

(I've been posting all over the place. >_< This is the last random one I'm going into...otherwise I'm just gonna wait ) Montgomery had left the group of brother's and Jaguar to their own devices. Jag had told him that when it was time for him to return to Paris-sama he would call for him. So with that being said he padded down the beach, staring off ahead blankly. Memories of going to the beach with his owner and their family in America filled his head. They were fond memories, but the thoughts of the drunken bastard poisoned those memories, causing his head to swim. His PTSD was hitting hard again and he was feeling a strong mood shift. He began to stumble and sway as he walked. He was now running on very little food and no sleep. The lack of sleep was pushing the PTSD worse as his vision blurred. He was passing images of his family, they were laughing and running. But every time an image of his master would pass by him, he'd snarl and lung at the figure. Of course he only lunged at thin air and would land harshly on the sand, no strength in him to really land properly. He was approaching a pier, blurred visions of his past laughing and cursing him as he approached. He must half looked half mad as he saw the other dog laying under the pier. "H-Howdy..." His voice was cold and almost heartless. He couldn't see the other canine very well, for all he knew she could be an illusion or a major threat. "Th-th-the name...is Montgomery...What...what...what's..." He spaced out a bit as he passed the dog, only to turn about and look back at her. ::What the hell has happened to you...you were fine with your pack...now you are falling apart...GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!:: He cleared his throat and tried again. "What's yer name, ma'am...?" (Oh wow...we have the same icon...weird...)

She was just start starting to drift off, beginning to enjoy the coolness under the pier and the gentle sound of the waves. Kris knew she shouldn't fall asleep, but slowly her eye closed and her breathing slowed. Soon she was deep in sleep and dreams began to attack her mind; horrid images flashed before her. NO! her thoughts screamed as she watched blood spill from her brother's body. Her body began to twitch as the nightmare progressed, snarls escaped her as she clawed at the sand.
"H-Howdy... Th-th-the name...is Montgomery...What...what...what's..."
Her eye flew open and a growl escaped her; Kris quickly rose to her feet and stared at the newcomer. This is why you don't sleep, this is why you always move, never stay in one place! she scolded herself. Sleep deprived as she was, she still had the energy to kick herself for sleeping in an open place.
"What's yer name, ma'am...?"
This question caught her off guard and she stared at the other canine for a few seconds before speaking. For what did this canine need to know about her? And why did he even care? He didn't, that was the end of it. "You won't even remember my name," she growled, keeping an eye on Montgomey. She turned slightly and shook the sand off of her fur, feeling relief as the course sand was shaken from her body. "But if you must know... Its Kris." She turned her blind side toward the male, but kept her ears perked as her one eye watched the ocean. "So, why are you here?" she ventured, turning her head to lookover at the other. [lol yeah. I made this icon months ago because Kaibutsu is my favorite x3]

He blinked a bit, trying to stay focused and prevent his mood shift to go from kind to hateful.
"I just wandered off from my pack...I was just gonna try to recruit more dogs or find a place to rest...I haven't stopped to rest for about a few days now..."
With a slight wag he laid himself down in the sand before her, watching her with warmth in his eyes. "Well Miss Kris...you can settle down...I'm not gonna hurt ya none...I promise..." He continued to wag his head and keep his ears perked, studying the stressed female before him. He twitched a bit as a flea gnawed at his neck, he began to scratch it swiftly. "Grrrr...damned fleas..."
[I'll get me a new image later]

While she waited for the male to respond, Kris looked him over and wondered her odds. If worse came to worse, she knew she could probably out endurance him, thanks to the days she had spend running while she was younger.
"I just wandered off from my pack...I was just gonna try to recruit more dogs or find a place to rest...I haven't stopped to rest for about a few days now..."
Her ears flicked slightly as she listened to Montgomery speak, her eye narrowing when he spoke of a pack. A pack, huh? Hmm... her thoughts wondered as she remembered the only back she had ever met. The one that wanted to kill her and her brother. And with that she concluded that he could not be trusted. Kris tensed as the other canine laid down near her and a low growl escaped her.
"Well Miss Kris...you can settle down...I'm not gonna hurt ya none...I promise..."
The female was surprised at this, but it didn't help her to settle down any. This could be a trap... her thoughts growled, causing her to take a step back from Montgomery. Her eye watched him carefully for any sudden movement and when he began to scratch, Kris jumped.
"Grrrr...damned fleas..."
"Fleas..?" she spoke softly. "Fleas are uncommon where I am from, they are not fond for the cold." And it was true, in the icy land of her birth there were few fleas if any. "The water might help, or snow." she suggested, still keeping her distance. [you didn't have to, but I do like your new one. Bat is awesome :3]

Monty looked at the jumpy female and raised one of his sullen looking eyes in confusion. "You act as if I'm going to tear into yer throat, ma'am...I will do no such thing..." He let out a loud yawn before stretching and standing up. "By any chance would you be interested in joining our pack? Our great leader Paris-sama has been looking for good warriors, especially bitches for the pack. You seem physically fit enough fer the job...Whaddya say...?" He offered a warm tail wag.

"You act as if I'm going to tear into yer throat, ma'am...I will do no such thing..."
Kris growled at his statement; of course she was jumpy, this was some strange dog that she had never met before. She couldn't afford to be off guard. Though deep down she did want to trust someone, it was lonely being by herself. The young female had been alone ever since the death of her brother, and that had been almost a year ago.
"By any chance would you be interested in joining our pack? Our great leader Paris-sama has been looking for good warriors, especially bitches for the pack. You seem physically fit enough fer the job...Whaddya say...?"
This time she didn't react as Montgomery stood, but her eye narrowed slightly as he spoke. A pack? she thought with disgust. "No," she snarled, baring her fangs. "A pack is nothing but a bunch of dogs that find glory in killing innocent dogs. Dogs that didn't even do anything wrong, but their existence was enough for them to be killed! Her view of a pack was skewed, for the only pack she had ever run into was the one that chased her and her brother and also killed her mother. "You seemed like an okay dog, but knowing your in a pack, that... That just makes you a monster!" [Kris as "pack" issues >.>"]

His eyes grew wide at the word 'monster.' He stood up quickly, his fur standing on end as he glared at her. The fatigue was gone, replaced by outrage and anger. Those sad eyes, burned with hurt and rage as he stepped towards her.
"Monster...? MONSTER?!" He slammed his paw into the sand and snarled. "Listen! I am no monster! I was raised by one! My owner treated me fine until that BEAR! When he lost his leg he BEAT ME! You want to see a monster?! I'll show you what a monster has done!" He forced his lips back, barring his fangs as he approached her. "Look at my scars! I can't be the same ever again in tha head! My body has been busted up and tore up by that bastard!" Snarling, he would pop his neck and glare at her.
"This is how you treat someone who is trying to be kind to you and offer you a place to stay?! Suffer alone then!" He rolled his neck slowly and turned from her starting to walk away. With his paw he scratched back a little sand at her. Offended and enraged, the traumatized dog started up the beach.

"Monster...? MONSTER?!"
"Yes, a monster." she growled softly, her single eye blazing at the memory of her pack. The pack her father once ruled, the pack that her mother tried to hide her from. The pack that murdered her mother and brother. The pack that ruined her life.
"Listen! I am no monster! I was raised by one! My owner treated me fine until that BEAR! When he lost his leg he BEAT ME! You want to see a monster?! I'll show you what a monster has done! Look at my scars! I can't be the same ever again in tha head! My body has been busted up and tore up by that bastard!"
Her jaws parted as he spoke and a growl echoed from her mouth as the male talked; she was not liking his tone at all.
"This is how you treat someone who is trying to be kind to you and offer you a place to stay?! Suffer alone then!"
Kris chuckled darkly as Monty told of his horrid past, but she could not sympathize with him. "Looks like we both had a bad past, but if you were so "traumatized" by that monster why did you join a pack? A pack creates monsters." she said slowly, picking her words carefully. But it hit her hard when he told her to suffer alone; those words cut her deep. Quickly her pain turned to rage and she chased after the other; "Hold it you piece of shit!" she snarled. She ran in front of the male and stood her ground. "You have no right to tell me anything, for you don't even know my past. You don't know why I hate packs and call you a monster." Unlike the other, she only had one scar, her scarred, blind eye, the rest of her scars lay inside. Kris' past had cut her deeper then any wound and could not be healed and slowly the pain was poisoning her soul.

He snarled loudly when she stopped him. He watched her one eye glare at him. His expression changed completely as he looked at her. Those hate-filled turned sullen again. His sick mind un-blurred as he looked at the bitch before him.
"You're right...I'm mighty sorry. I don't know where you come from." He bowed a bit for his apology and looked at her. "I don't know why you hate packs...And I'd be more than willing to listen..."
He sat down in front of her and perked his ears up
((Sorry for the crappy post. Its real hectic at work with a whole tornado threat and what not))

She didn't care whether he tried to pass her or not, for she would not let him. He needed to hear her past, to understand her pain; for once she was willing to tell someone.
"You're right...I'm mighty sorry. I don't know where you come from. I don't know why you hate packs...And I'd be more than willing to listen..."
Her eye widened in surprise as the male's expression changed and he spoke, not with harsh words, but with kind ones. Taken back, she also sat and thought of what to say. "Thank you," she said softly. "It all stared before I was born... My father led a pack and then he was killed, and that's ll I know of him. Me and my brother Kane were born away from the pack and all we had was our mother. One day Kane and I came across the pack... We ran and my Mother stayed and fought them, getting herself killed. Me and Kane ran and ran for day, weeks, months and even years. Finally the pack caught us... They had hired professional killers..." she broke off and looked at the ground. "They killed Kane, and took away my eye..." Kris continued to look to the ground, not wanting to see what Monty's expression showed.
[Its okay. And wow, a tornado threat! I hope you don't get any]

He watched her and put his paw on her's gently. "I'm sorry...You poor soul." He sat a little closer to her and watched her gently. "Well...then don't join my pack..." He looked at her and then looked around quickly. "They are ruthless. I wouldn't wish for you to be scared of traumatized anymore than you have to." He offered her a soft doggy grin. "And I am no monster..."
He lowered his head and whispered. "I hate killing...fighting is a part of life...but killing can be avoided..." He wagged his tail for his new companion before licking her muzzle gently. He continued to whisper as he looked at her. "Avoid the Southern Alps at ALL costs...that's where I'll be residing as the new alpha male...hopefully." He looked at her sternly. "I can't offer you safe passage due to the Alpha female...she runs it. So try to avoid it at all costs."
He continued to happily wag his tail and stood up. "If you are hungry...I'll catch you some fish."

"I'm sorry...You poor soul."
She nodded slightly, welcoming his kind words; the first she had heard in what seemed like ages. Her body tensed slightly when the male came closer, but then she relaxed. Kris was starting to be able to relax around Monty. Her head cocked when he began to look around and her body tensed once more.
"Well...then don't join my pack... They are ruthless. I wouldn't wish for you to be scared of traumatized anymore than you have to. And I am no monster..."
A low growl echoed from her; I knew packs were made of monsters, she thought bitterly, narrowing her eye. But she understood when he told her that he was not a monster, and she believed him. For what monster would tell another to avoid their pack?
I hate killing...fighting is a part of life...but killing can be avoided... Avoid the Southern Alps at ALL costs...that's where I'll be residing as the new alpha male...hopefully. I can't offer you safe passage due to the Alpha female...she runs it. So try to avoid it at all costs."
Her ears perked as this information was given her and she nodded her head slowly, understanding his quite words. He was giving her all the information she need to know about his pack, that it was dangerous and she would not be safe there. "I will avoid your back, I have no need to go in that direction anyway." At the mention of fish, Kris relaxed, knowing that his dark topic was now over, thankfully. "You can catch those damn fish?" she asked, surprised. "Now that is something I want to see." she stood and stretched, then looked over to the other, waiting to see the magic of fish catching. [Blah, bad post, sorry >.<]

Monty grinned a bit at her before padding to the water's edge, lowering his body slowly. Those sullen, sad looking eyes focused at the shadows of fishing, swimming back and forth under the water's surface.
His rear raised into the air with his tail wagging as he began to grin more. Without a bit of noise he lunged, headfirst into the water, sinking his sharp fangs into a large fish. His head raised from the water and looked back at her, snickering. "Tada..." With those eyes twinkling he tossed her a fish before diving back in for his own.
((Sorry for the bad post))

She sat down on the soft sand and watched eagerly as Monty wadded into the water. Her golden eye narrowed in focus as his rear end raised slightly; Why is he doing that? she thought and wanted to ask, but thought better of it. She didn't want to ruin his focus. Kris jumped at his quick movement as he dove, head first, into the water. She was about to go after him, when he suddenly came up with a fish clamped tightly in his jaws. "Wow," she said in amazement. "That was great." The female stepped back slightly as he threw the fish toward her. It flopped helpless on the beach until her fangs ended it life.
She tore off a bit of it and watched as Montgomery went back under to grab himself a fish. Again she watched in amazement, if only she could learn to do that. "Do you think you could show me how to catch fish?" she asked when he resurfaced.
