((Requesting Ryuujin Youkai (Invader Phantom), with Mustang. Others PM to join.)) & “Oh, for the love of God, put it away!” A growl escaped her as she felt her ear twitch in annoyance, and Annie glared at her companion. The object he held in his maw was really starting to get on her nerves, and she just wished he would lose that stupid grin he had on his face. In return, Hughes just chuckled and tucked the picture safely under his bracelet so it wouldn’t fall out. He found it rather amusing how An got all angry the tenth time he had shoved it in her face. The look she gave him was priceless, and he was glad to be able to get something out of her. The depressed nature of the fox hybrid made him want to do something, and he was indeed doing his best. “Good.” She was pleased to have the image of Hughes’s daughter out of her sight, and Annie let her muscles relax. This, travelling with the crazy military guy, showed to be much more, interesting, than she had originally thought. She couldn’t remember the time Maes stopped talking about his family. “Now don’t be mad, Ru-chan, but how can you possibly resist such cuteness?” The amusement was practically rolling off him, and Anrui huffed before continuing her way, not even bothering to answer the older male. Her silver pelt glistened in the moonlight as she broke into a run, knowing full well Hughes would be behind her any second. And when she heard the soft sound of ruffling grass and paws touching the melting snow, she couldn’t help but smirk. Having him around certainly took her mind off other things. “Stop trying, jiji, you’ll never beat me.” To prove her point, she picked up her speed, leaving the stunned Hughes behind her eating the dust. A playful look appeared in his eyes and he ignored her remark, digging his claws into the muddy ground and pushing his body forward, forgetting about everything else. Even though Hughes was older and a part of the military, his personality was far more childish that Annie could ever imagine. “But why would you be so cruel, An-Chan” He was closing in on her, and though his words came in short gasps, they had a light tone to them, “I am sure I can’t be that bad.” It was Annie’s turn to chuckle at this, and she lost her focus for just a moment. But it was enough, and the next time she paid attention, Hughes was running in front of her, his tail almost falling in her face. The surprise moment passed quickly, and a mischievous glint in her blue eyes said she had got an idea. “Oh you have no idea… How cruel I can be…” Gathering her strength for one burst of speed, she stretched her neck, and than… “Ouch!” Hughes yelped in surprise and slight pain as he felt himself being stopped in the middle of his movement, losing his balance and falling on his face. “What the…” The German shepherd blinked, willing the dust out of his eyes and looking around, confused as to how he had found himself on the ground. The sight that greeted him wasn’t what he expected. Annie was grinning like crazy, towering over him, her jaws still clasped around his tail and her own waged happily. If she didn’t have her mouth full of fur, she would have been laughing her ass off at that moment. “You didn’t…” Maes stared at the female, not quite believing his eyes. Maybe the glasses were finally failing him, playing tricks on his mind? But no, Ru just kept standing there, seemingly not planning to let go of him any time soon. A few moments of silence passed, before he couldn’t take it any more and burst out laughing, falling back down and rolling in the mud he was in. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but the way she was acting stirred something inside of him. Some feeling he felt he was missing. It was… familiar. Maybe he just longed for someone to take care of, someone to act as a father to. And this girl was just so lost, hurt and bruised from her past that he couldn’t help but feel protective of her. And seeing Annie act as a pup she practically was, the pained expression gone just for a while, it made him happy. And so he laughed. Annie, on the other hand, was startled by his outburst and jumped back, frowning. “How is he doing this? What is it exactly that he is doing?” She hadn’t felt this good in a long time, and it scared her, to be honest. She was sure before that would be the way she’d spend her life, miserable and troubled by her past, alone. The memories depressed her, the ghosts haunted her, driving her insane, and the world was becoming scarier by the second. And she was learning to deal with it, to accept the fact it was how it would be, forever. And then, Hughes made her doubt her conclusions. He did his best to make her doubt them, tried hard to make her smile, and after a while, he succeeded. He made her feel immature, and it felt surprisingly good. It was like she was given a chance at being a carefree pup, something that was taken away from her the moment she was born and forced to train, preform, and later on, fight. But her thought were interrupted, and Annie blinked, looking at the serous face of Maes who somehow managed to get right in front of her without her noticing. She must have really gotten lost deep in thought. “You know, Annie-Chan, it’s much better when you smile, like…” Trailing off, he smirked and she knew something was up. “W-what? What are you doing?” She searched for any sign of what he was planning, scanning the male while backing away slightly. “This doesn’t look good…” [/i] Hughes kept his smirk, lowering his head to his left paw, and in the matter of seconds… “Ouch!” Maes was rubbing his nose with his paw, his face scrunched up in a mocking manner. Anrui stood a few steps away, the small annoying picture in her maw, looking comically mad and glaring at Hughes. If looks could kill… “Some never learn…” She gave up, letting the tension leave her body with a sigh as she returned the piece of paper to its owner. “Heh…” He grinned, and it was obvious he didn’t regret getting a paw in his face if it meant having her mood up. “Who ever said I wanted to learn? Keh.”[/i][/color]

((Real quick, I'm confused with all the names. How many dogs are there?)) Laughter shattered the near perfect silence of his forest. The huge wolf's dark brown, scruffy head snapped from carefree slumber. His dark green eyes glared and glinted. He growled, a bulldog tooth showing. Someone else? In his forest? Laughing? The massive wolf got to his paws and shook himself. Oh now, this just wouldn't do; not after waking his slumber. Growling to himself, Sabre bounded from his cave den and down the slanted trail on the side of the tall rock mountain that was the pack den. Long, curved and untamed black claws clicked on grey rock as he travelled the slope. His reddish brown fur bristled against the stone face to his right, and his pawsteps where brisk, bouncy. A twitch of the nose, and sented. Hot on the trail, Sabre shot off at an alarming speed towards the two who had woken him up.
It took him a moment to come even close to the place in wich the two stood. It was deep in his forest; far from the others, he suspected. But this didn't bother the hefty male one bit; he knew very well his capabilities, within and away from his back. Sabre gave a bark and a growl when the scent was near. "Who are you two? Come out of my trees so I can see you."

(Between me and Kyu, there are three. Her Hughes and Anrui, and my Mustang. ^^ Sorry it took me so long to reply. I fail. >< It was another cool evening, and with the sun to set soon, it would get even cooler. The colonel didn't mind the cold weather, no, he had the flames he so adored to keep him warm. What he really hated was rain, not only did it dampen his mood, but his abilities as well. Thankfully though, from what his black eyes could see, not a single cloud dotted the horizon. Which, to his luck, meant no snow nor rain. Snow, did he mention he hated snow as well? If it was a form of water, and it fell from the sky, he despised it.
Holding the flame tighter within his maw, Mustang slowly made his way through the trees, paying careful attention not to set the vegetation on fire. There was a specific reason he was here, he had received word that an old friend was in the area, one that he hadn't seen in awhile. Quite frankly, even though the crazy antics of the other drove him crazy at times, and that ridiculous picture he had the tendency to whip out, the male was his best friend. "Hughes..."The name of the other left his maw as his nose rose into the air, catching onto the sent of the male. But, as it seemed, he wasn't alone? Strange, I've never known Hughes to travel with anyone really... I don't even know this scent... His thoughts faded from his mind as he smelled a third rather suddenly. Whipping around, Mustang saw the source far away, dashing down the slope at quite the amazing speed. The downward slope helped, he assumed, but that was no matter. What are you going af-
Black eyes widened suddenly as he saw Huges and the other canine further down from where the wolf had stopped, his booming voice echoing through the trees."Who are you two? Come out of my trees so I can see you."Mustang felt his upper lip curl back in a silent snarl around the flame in his maw as his ears laid back. Oh no you don't. He looked around almost frantically for something to distract the male wolf before spotting a large fir tree above him. Mind reeling with the possibility, Mustang knew he could hurt himself with the possibility of the plan not working, but... it was worth a shot. Shifting the flame in his mouth so that the wood was sticking directly out in front from his maw, Mustang crouched, his claws digging into the damp earth below.
With a huff, Mustang bolted forward. He had only preformed the move a few times before, but it was only practice. He never had a reason before to use it before anyone else. But this time... this time it was real. Running up the face of a rock, Mustang pushed against the the edge as he reached, launching himself high into the air. Gripping the fire tighter, he stretched out before curling in on himself, carefully tucking his tail underneath his chest. The moment he curled up, he began to spin, picking up speed in the air toward the fir above. The flame that was held tightly in his maw soon blurred and widened with the force of the wind around him, giving Mustang the appearance of a ball of fire.
The flame battouga.
With a resounding crack, Mustang hit one of its many smaller branches hard, slicing the wood from its trunk. The flaming branch hit the ground before the male and moments later, Mustang behind it, the fur on his back raised, lip once again curled back. The flame in his maw was shifted back to the side as narrowed black eyes gazed over it to the smaller male above. Yes, he may have overreacted, but quite frankly, he had good reason to.

[Oh meh God, I'm sososo sorry guys! *ashamed* I'm terribly sorry for such a late reply!
Also, Kei-san, there are only two dogs that I RP with, Hughes and Anrui, sorry for all the nicknames, I tried to make it more understandable this time. ^^;;;
And, as always ... it suuucks ><]
Hughes let the cool evening air enter his lungs, enjoying the peaceful feeling it brought him as he thought about what had happened recently. It made him smile to remember how Annie acted before, how she teased him, laughed and for just a short while acted as a pup. Damn, she was a pup; after all, that’s what she should be acting like. He wished he could do more, make her happy more often, but it seemed somewhat hopeless to the solider. He had been travelling with the young fox mutt for quite some time now, maybe well over a month, but this, tonight, was practically the first lively reaction he had managed to get out of her. He guessed being so damn persistent in showing her his daughter’s picture had something to do with her finally letting go for a bit, and he was glad for it. It was… refreshing to see that depressed and pained expression lift, turn into one that someone her age should have at all times. He had to admit, he had grown fond of the little fox, she almost felt like a second daughter to him.
Annie was unnaturally excited, she felt light and for the first time in a rather long time, she didn’t worry about anything, and it felt amazing. Amazing not to remember her horrid past, amazing not to crawl away and curl up in a ball to escape the ghosts that always wanted something from her. It was just so beautiful, to laugh and play with this guy, something she assumed would be like if she had a father. Yes, maybe she hadn’t known him for too long, but Hughes definitely acted like family to her, he was closer to the young fox mix than anyone else she had ever met. And it brought a smile to her maw, it made her believe that just maybe she wasn’t as hopeless as she had thought herself to be, maybe there was still a chance for her to forget about the pain and live a happy, or at least a normal life.
Both their thought were suddenly interrupted as a voice broke through the silence that had fallen over the small clearing, and it startled them. Hughes immediately jumped to his paws, mentally scolding himself for being that careless. He was enjoying himself far too much, and he had forgot that they were in someone else’s territory. Now would be the good time to remember that. He looked at Annie who also stood up, looking around for the source of the commanding voice. They couldn’t see the wolf that spoke, but they could both sense the authority that surrounded his presence. The soldier guessed they were faced with the alpha of these lands himself, but he wasn’t going to make any conclusions without making sure of them first. That would just get them in trouble, and that was something he did not wish to happen.
Annie felt the excitement and all the positive energy drain from her system as she scanned their surroundings in search of the wolf, and she silently cursed the stranger for showing up at such a time. He could not have picked a worse moment to come and act the way he did, it irritated the fox and the happiness was replaced with that almost fake anger. It was her mask, the one she showed to all the strangers who did not deserve her trust, and thus did not deserve to see the real her. They were not allowed to see how actually broken and depressed she was, that she blindly charged at her opponents not because of the rage or desire to fight, but because she couldn’t stand it. She couldn’t stand her own feelings, and it always led her to a fight with an opponent she couldn’t possibly hope to beat. Than she would end up hurt and bleeding, and only those she trusted knew that to be her goal. Only they knew that her addiction to pain and how she sought comfort and escape in it would bring her death one day.
Neither of them managed to reply to the stranger’s question before Hughes noticed another smell lingering in the air, and this time, he could recognize it. He knew that smell, he knew who it belonged to, and the thought of that someone brought a grin on his face. Mustang. The crazy fire obsessed colonel was near, and even tho it hasn’t been that long since he last saw him, Hughes was looking forward to meeting up with his best friend. And as it seemed, he wouldn’t have to wait long for that exact thing to happen. He could make out the form of his friend in the relative darkness, but what convinced him of Mustang’s position was the flame that moved in the air with each step he made. ‘Burning as always, eh my friend?’ the amused expression quickly faded as he realized what the other was up to, or, well, he guessed. Mustang was picking up his speed, and Hughes wondered for a moment what he was about to do, the move he was preparing to preform didn’t seem familiar to the soldier. Obviously Mustang had a trick up his sleeve, and they were in for a show.
Meanwhile, Annie was far from anything that resembled amusement or pleasure as she too caught the sight of Mustang nearing them with fire in his maw. Instead, she could feel her body freezing suddenly, her muscles slowly not functioning anymore as she stared at the lame, paralyzed. Fire. Fire. Fire. It was all her mind could think about, all that she saw at that moment. Fire. The very thought of it chilled her to the bone, and seeing what Mustang was doing scared her to the death. She couldn’t move, she couldn’t speak, she couldn’t… couldn’t… She just couldn’t do anything, except stand there, pale green eyes wide with fear. She wasn’t aware of the fact her whole body was trembling, she just kept staring, terrified, at the flame that shot up in the air. ‘No, no, no, no… go away… go away… please, go away…’ But nothing left her maw; she couldn’t force her body to listen to her, all strength leaving her faster than she thought possible.
It took Hughes a few moments to notice Annie went completely silent and still, and when he looked back at her, ignoring Mustang for a second, he was a bit confused with what he saw. She was motionless, shivering, tho he couldn’t see the reason behind it, it wasn’t any colder than it was hour ago. He got worried at he observed her, and when he looked in her eyes, suddenly a realization hit the older soldier. Fire! The burns on her body should have warned him, but he was too careless to pay it any attention, and besides, Anrui had always refused to talk about her past or how she got any of her scars.
Turning back to Mustang who had landed close and seemed determined to protect them, Hughes couldn’t keep the feeling he had to hurry away. It seemed the evening of fun had turned in something close to a nightmare, as he didn’t want his friend to get in trouble with the wolf who approached them. He didn’t want to put him in any danger, even tho Mustang was more than capable of taking care of himself. “Mustang! Put out the fire!” His voice was rushed, his words sharper than he had intended, for he wasn’t angry or upset with Mustang, no, he was simply worried about Annie.
Looking once more in the direction of the wolf, Hughes narrowed his eyes and a low growl escaped him. He was never the one to judge and jump to conclusions, but this guy was already getting on his nerves for some reason. “We are not hiding, my friend.” There was a playful tone in what he had said, but his intentions concerning the possible alpha of the land were nowhere near playful.

((Don't even worry about it ^^)) Sabre's rageful eyes widened. He stood his full magnificent height and bared his own incredibly abnormal, huge fangs for wich he was named. He kicked the flames of the branch aside, though it singed his pads, he was too furiouse with these oppositions to give much of a shit. Sabre's green eyes looked at a young female who seemed almost traumatized by the inferno's incredible burn, while the other male yelled "Mustang! Put out the fire!" Sabre's body was rigged, every last agitated hair standing on end, his ears pinned back so far that they hurt. These fellows better pray the alpha female would stop him before he tore his fangs straight through every muscle in their bodys. "We are not hiding, my friend."
Friend? They dared call themselves so to his face? Still, there was something playful in this angry male's tone. Sabre closed his emrald eyes and straightened himself out. He tried his best to force his hackles down like his mate would want him to do. Unfortunately, he was not always the gentle, controlled alpha she might wish for him to be or wish to be herself; sometimes Maiku could be tenfold in her wrath compared to his, and she was even a larger beast than him. Sabre opened his orbs once more, but not to full. They were still locked in a narrow glare. Sabre still held his own growl. "I doubt it wise to get smart with me, especially the one you call Mustang. I don't enjoy that little stunt," Sabre hissed. "This land happens to belong to me and my pack. It was unfortunate that I arrived before my mate, for you anyways, and if you'd like to stay than you need to tell me..." Sabre wanted to finish the sentence with a harsh 'WHY THE FUCK YOU'RE HERE!' in his usual uncontrollable anger. But he took a deep breathe, and reduced it to "What you are doing on my land. I would be willing to forgive a harmless accidental trespass, but if this is a raid of some sort... you have another thing coming."
