Fuck you firefly Have you lost your light Now I hate your ways 'cause they're just like mine
It was in the mist of warmth, and yet snow still covered the mountains, but a hot breeze blew. The moon was slowly rising in the sky, dipping behind dark clouds that hid the shining stars. The clouds were heavy with rain and would soon open up and let it all pour over the land. Even in the danger of rain, a lone creature walked through the snow at a steady pace. The canine's long fur whipped around as the wind tumbled along, gaining in strength as time passed. Its head slowly rose to look at the darkening sky and a low growl came from the dog.
"I need to find shelter," the voice was feminine, though with a rough edge. Her green eyes flashed when the moon peaked out from behind a cloud; the brief increase of light brought attention to her scars. The saluki mix trotted along, but froze as she felt something pelt her. Slowly her head lifted once more to see that the moon was now hidden and the only thing she could see was dark clouds. Soon a roll of thunder sounded and a flash of lightning. "Shit," she growled as a torrent of water came pouring down upon her.
Aaren began to sprint through the snowy landscape, looking for shelter, all the while curses sprang from her lips. Rain pelted down on her and soon her black fur was soaked; weighing her down. The added weight slowed her down considerably, but still she kept going. Eventually she slid to a stop and doubled back; was that a cave she had seen? She smiled in relief, it was one. Quickly she entered the cave and shook herself, flinging water everywhere. With her somewhat water free, she walked deeper into the cave, turning ever to often until she came to a dead end.
Her jaws parted slightly, then closed. At the back of the cave was the skeleton of a canine, one that had been trapped during the winter. "Tough luck," she said, surprised at how her voice echoed in the cave. She stared at the fallen canine awhile longer before turning around and starting to make her way to the cave's entrance.
So you lost my friend Such a sorry end And I don't know why So I choke and smile

[It totally works for me. I absolutely adore the setting you put this in :3]Morty Good intentions lost in thin air, you were craving for affection,
Purple eyes held their gaze contently on the moon as it dipped behind the clouds as if hiding from the earth. Not a single star dotted the sky tonight, playing this little game of hide and seek along with the moon. It was a pity, he was hoping that he would've been able to connect to them tonight. But it was no matter, the rain that the clouds were promising to drop held plenty of possibilities itself. Not only could he smell the water, heavily hanging on the clouds, pushing against the fluffy bottom, wanting to be released upon the planet below, but he could sense it. The trees let their whispers of the news float along the wind to be heard by those who cared.
Three... The mysterious canine known as Morty began his countdown as the sky darkened further. Two... Lightning danced across the sky in elegant arrays, thunder answering its moves magnificently. One... A few drops fell here and there before the rain came down in torrents, the wind blowing it this way and that.
Through the darkened landscape, his eyes caught sight of something far away, an outline of a creature racing across the land. Part of him wondered who would be wandering outside in a storm such as this at this hour. Laying his ears back, he watched the figure slide to a stop and look behind them at the cave that Morty was sitting in before turning on their tail. Great... company. With a soft huff, the German Shepherd stood up and turned on his own heel and moved deeper within the cave.
As he moved, Morty conjured his abilities with the earth, bringing up a soft wind behind him to cover his tracks and scent with the dirt that covered the cave floor, not wanting to be found by the canine. Strange enough for him, he didn't mind the idea of talking to something living at the moment, but he would much rather find them first. Easily leaping up upon a small boulder, then onto a higher, and yet again onto another higher boulder before climbing atop a small ledge, Morty finished covering his tracks, letting the mistral rest, the dirt laying calmly back onto the floor.
Gently laying himself down on the ledge, Morty allowed his paws to dangle over the edge and laid his head upon his legs. His eyes once again found something to intently focus upon as the sound of pall falls echoed through the cave. Soon enough, the owner of these pawfalls found their way into his sights. The dog seemed to be smaller than himself, long black fur and long black ears donned the creature. A Saluki, or a mix, perhaps? He wondered briefly before the canine, that he now knew to be female, spoke.
"Tough luck,"
A small smirk touched the corner of Morty's maw as he closed his eyes and raised his head, "Quite the opposite, really." He tilted his head away from her as he made himself known, his tone calm and cold. "The soul that was trapped within that prison is free, he's better off now than he was being alive."
and a certain invitation led you here, to me in the cynical world.
