The beast was dead, of that he was certain. It had to be, didn't it? Even covered in spiked armor, strange as it was, no dented metal could withstand the force of those waterfalls. Where the beast had come from, he didn't know. What Stark did know however, was that it was trouble. Paradise was being attacked by an unknown force, and somewhere he knew, the pack as it was would not be enough. Looking down on the falls, where he had knocked that armored cat off days ago, the Beauceron sighed. It was time to leave Ohu, and find more strong warriors to join him. He didn't know how difficult a journey it would be, but he knew that it was necessary. Already he had told his pack mates not to go anywhere alone, and yet here he was, alone. But he needed his own thoughts and nothing else, he needed to decide on what they could do to save this land. He would rather die than let Gajou fall to evil again, or Ohu to be destroyed by dark hearts. Ages ago he had made a vow and it would not be broken now!
”What you looking at there, big guy?” A voice whispered to him, and he turned swiftly around not meet it fang to fang. Or claw to claw, as the case would rather be. A small dainty paw flicked him on the nose, and he nearly snapped it clean off. The scent of cat was in the air, another one of those beasts? And how could he get so lost in thought not to have noticed!? But no, it was a much smaller figure. It was still a cat, though. ”Feline. What are you doing in Dog's paradise?” ”Is it such a paradise that it be only reserved for one species?” Chuckling, the dog shook his head. ”No. No it is not. Ohu is a paradise for any who do not harm another. Whether cat or dog, all are welcome. But we do not see many of your kind here.” ”Well, there were more. But I am the only remaining. Humans can be cruel. I just escaped from a place where they kill my brothers and sisters and make us into fur coats.”
Stark was uncertain, what with the recent attack by a feline before. But this one was too small to be of any danger to him. ”I have a pack to tend to. Farewell, cat.” ”Its Chiara.” 'Stark.” As the dog vanished into the wood, the serval gave a purring laugh. With a flick of her tail, she followed. Who said cats and dogs didn't get along?
